Natheer Farhat, 37
Israeli Navy kills a resident near Gaza Shore
A Palestinian security source reported, on Saturday at dawn, that the Israeli Navy fired at a Palestinian fishing boat killing near the Gaza Shore, killing one resident, while another resident went missing.
A medical source at Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital, in Rafah, identified the killed resident as Natheer Farhat, 37, from Al Mawassi area in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
Farhat died of his wounds at the hospital.
An Israeli military source claimed that soldiers identified two Palestinians swimming towards the shore in possession of equipment suspected as weapons’; army claims that soldiers fired at them after they ignored ordered to stop.
The source added that the two “carried equipment attached to their body”; the equipment was suspected to be weapons.
Last Saturday, Israeli Navy killed a Palestinian fisherman in the same area; soldiers claimed that he allegedly attempted to transfer weapons or smuggle a wanted person; neither was found after the resident was shot and killed.
Also, the Israeli Navy shelled a Palestinian Navy headquarters in Rafah earlier on Saturday; one officer was injured.
The injured officer was identified as Mahmoud Khaleefa, 23.
In a separate incident, Israeli tanks and artillery fired at least three shells at Al Faraheen areas in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip; damage was reported, no injuries.
Several areas were also shelled in northern Gaza.

Child killed, another injured by military fire near Ramallah
Israeli soldiers fired, on Monday evening, at several children in Al Mogheer village, near the West Bank city of Ramallah killing a nine-year old child, and injuring another.
Troops transferred the injured child to an Israeli hospital via helicopter.
An Israeli military source claimed that soldiers initially thought that the children were fighters placing an explosive charge on a road close to Shilo settlement, near Ramallah.
A Palestinian security source accused the settlers of firing at the children while they were playing near the main road which leads to the settlement.
The Palestinian District Coordination Office (DCO) contacted the Israeli DCO in order to arrange the handing of the child's body.

Army probes the death of a Palestinian child; soldiers did not follow orders
An Israeli source reported that the probe conducted by the Israeli army in the death of a Palestinian child by military fire on Monday revealed that soldiers did not follow the open-fire procedures.
The child, Monadil Abu Alia, 13, was killed by military fire last Monday near Ramallah city, in the West Bank.
He left his house at 20:00 along with two of his friends and headed to the main street. Army claimed that the three intended to place rocks in a main street and close it.
Thirty minutes after the child left his home, one of his friends informed the family that their son was seriously injured by the army, an hour later the family was officially informed of the child's death.
An Israeli military source reported that the officer at Benjamin military unit Miki Einstein conducted an investigation on the incident on Wednesday and revealed that the child had stepped into a trap that the military had set apparently while targeting fighters, according to Einstein.
According to the investigation findings, soldiers claimed that they spotted two residents carrying "objects" and approaching the main street.
One of the two was some 40 meters away from the soldiers, while the other was further back.
Soldiers claimed that they ordered the child to stop but when he failed to respond they fired in the air, using a sniper-rifle, and fired more rounds at his legs using a night-vision sniper scope.
The army claimed that the death of the child was accidental, and that the incident is not considered an over-reaction by the soldiers.
Notably, most of the cases investigated by the military acquitted the soldiers, or units, involved in such incidents.
