Leaked film exposes secret Israeli attacks in Syria, Iran
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- A leaked video shown at a private ceremony for Israel's General Staff admits for the first time ever to the Israeli Occupation Force's involvement in attacks on Syria and Iran.
The film was shown at an honorary farewell ceremony for former Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and was meant to portray his accomplishments while in office.
According to Haaretz, it includes a clear-cut confession to the bombing of Deir ez Zor in Syria in September 2007 and last year's cyber attack that crippled Iran's nuclear program.
Israeli officials say the information could serve as a legal presumption for the Syrian government to take legal action against Israel over the attack.
In the attack in Iran, the Stuxnet computer worm developed by Israeli intelligence was used to sabotage a fifth of Iran's nuclear centrifuges, an incident that attracted heavy media attention with Israel and the US as the prime suspects. Israel had abstained from commenting on accusations.
Sources say the Shin Bet has opened investigations to learn how the details leaked from the private ceremony where the video was shown.

Report: Israel army preps for Egypt-style demos
TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma an) -- Israels army is concerned by the prospect of Palestinians replicating Egypt-style mass demonstrations with dozens of simultaneous marches and protests in the West Bank, an Israeli newspaper reported Friday.
The military is beginning to build rapid-response forces and to identify vantage points throughout the territories that could be used to contain such protests, The Jerusalem Post reported.
The army s Central Command assesses that the Palestinians could resort to so-called nonviolent resistance, on a scale previously unknown, in the absence of peace negotiations, the newspaper said.
We are preparing different responses for different scenarios to think about what we will do if there are, for example, 30 marches of several thousand people each, a senior officer told the Post.
This is something we have yet to encounter.
The officer said it was likely the Palestinian Authority would prevent this from happening until after elections in September.
One step the military is reportedly considering is taking is to set up rapid-response teams that can quickly maneuver throughout the West Bank and arrive at the scene of a demonstration in its early stages in an attempt to stop it.
According to the report, the army is also locating strategic hilltops that can be used as vantage points from which the military could deploy reconnaissance and surveillance teams to spy on Palestinian communities.
The Border Police are expected to establish a new command in the West Bank, it said.

The spokesman for Gaza`s rescue services, Adham Abu Selmiya, said ambulances had evacuated the victims to the hospital. Earlier eyewitness reports said they saw tanks and bulldozers in the area.
The IDF spokesman said in response that during a routine IDF operation near the northern part of the Gaza Strip security fence, an explosive device was activated against the IDF followed by a mortar shell. Earlier Wednesday witnesses reported seeing bulldozers accompanied by tanks entering the area. According to them, Islamic Jihad activists fired mortars at them and the tanks fired back.
The Islamic Jihads military wing, Al-Quds Brigades, claimed its people fired two mortars at IDF forces which crossed the fence, causing the tanks to fire shells back at them. According to the Islamic Jihad, three of their men were injured, one was severely injured.
Just last Thursday Israeli soldiers shot and killed three Palestinian men in the Gaza Strip near a fishing area. The army confirmed that infantry soldiers and IDF aircraft opened fire on the three men who had approached the security fence separating Israel from the Hamas-ruled territory.
The Israeli Navy recognized the men who were walking around illegally very close the security fence. The Navy and Air Force were called to the scene and a Daboor ship shot and hurt the three men.
