(15:21) Bil'in Protest 21-10-2011.wmv
As soon as protesters reached the Apartheid-Annexation Wall, they were attacked by Israeli Occupation Forces firing inordinate amounts of tear gas which resulted in fierce, wind-driven fires in the tinder-dry vegetation, bushes and olive trees in the firing zone which destroyed some twenty trees and bushes.
In the immediate aftermath of the demonstration, five army jeeps made an incursion into village lands and occupation soldiers arrested Ashraf Abu Rahmah when he peacefully remonstrated with them - two of these jeeps peeled off to invade the village for a short period. Ashraf is currently detained in Israel's Ofer prison near Ramallah on, no doubt, trumped-up charges.

A large group of residents and activists joined the weekly demonstration against the Wall in Beit Ummar. The group marched from the center of the village towards the fence surrounding that is known as "special security zone", located about 100 meters from the adjacent settlement, Karni Tzur, on private Palestinian agricultural land.
Although settlers are not allowed to stay in this zone, a group of them was present when the demonstration arrived near the fence. PA: Israel bans 29 people from undertaking Hajj
RAMALLAH (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities on Sunday banned 29 West Bank Palestinians from traveling to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, a PA official said.
Issa Qaraqe, minister of prisoner affairs in Ramallah, said that all of the pilgrims banned from traveling were relatives of prisoners in Israeli jails.
Last year, Israeli authorities also denied entry to Jordan for pilgrims on route to Mecca because they had relatives in Israeli prisons, Qaraqe said.
The minister slammed the policy, labeling it “aggressive behavior which violates the right to practice religious rites.”
Over 300 pilgrims left Gaza for Mecca earlier in October to take part in the Eid al-Adha celebrations in the holy city.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia which all able bodied Muslims are obliged to undertake during their lifetime. It is one of the five pillars of Islam.

Israeli Forces Prevent Palestinian Farmers from Entering their Land

The village farmers told WAFA that Israeli forces stationed at the entrance of Sal’it, an Israeli settlement built illegally on the village land, prevented farmers from reaching their land through the only route to it which crosses the Apartheid Wall, forcing them to turn back at gunpoint.
Israeli authorities had seized the farmers’ tractors for three days, preventing them from reaching their land to pick olives.

Israelis hold defense drill for missile attack
Israeli soldiers role playing as mock victims
By Ari Rabinovitch
JERUSALEM (Reuters) -- Israel staged a mass drill on Thursday, simulating a missile attack in the center of the country at a time of intense speculation that it could launch strikes on Iran, although the military dismissed any link.
Civil defense drills happen several times a year in Israel and the military said this exercise, which caused air-raid sirens to ring out around the Tel Aviv area, had been planned months in advance.
There has been a week-long surge of speculation in Israeli media that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is working to secure cabinet consensus for an attack on Iranian nuclear installations.
On Wednesday, Israel test-fired a missile from a military base, with media later reporting that it was probably a Jericho 3 missile capable of carrying a nuclear warhead.
Later the same day, the Israeli military announced that the air force had concluded a week-long exercise in Sardinia "practicing operations in (a ) vast, foreign land".
Speculation about a possible Israeli attack on Iran has increased ahead of a report by the UN's nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, next week, which Western diplomats expect will suggest Iran is getting closer to being able to build an atomic bomb.
U.S. President Barack Obama said on Thursday he had discussed Iran with French President Nicolas Sarkozy on the sidelines of a summit in Cannes.
"One (issue) in particular that I want to mention is the continuing threat posed by Iran's nuclear program. The IAEA is scheduled to release a report on Iran's nuclear program next week and President Sarkozy and I agree on the need to maintain the unprecedented pressure on Iran to meet its obligations," Obama said.
Thursday's simulation of a missile attack involved various Israeli emergency services, with ambulance workers and soldiers, some wearing masks and equipment to protect against chemical weapons, practicing treating the wounded.
"This drill was part of the scheduled training programme for 2011 and is not influenced by the current events," the military said in a statement.
Israeli leaders have long said that all options are on the table in tackling Iran's nuclear ambitions, but they have thrown support behind international sanctions led by the United States meant to curb the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
Iran, which opposes Israel's existence, denies that it is seeking to make a nuclear bomb, saying it is enriching uranium only to power reactors for electricity generation.
Israel, widely believed to have the Middle East's sole atomic arsenal, sees a nuclear-armed Iran as an existential threat.
A poll on Thursday showed that Israelis were split over the prospect of a strike on Iran, with 41 percent in favor of an attack and 39 percent against. Haaretz newspaper said there was a 4.6 percent margin of error in the survey of 495 people.
Israeli military officials have said in private that any strike on Iran would likely spark swift retaliation from Iran itself and its allies such as Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
Hezbollah and Hamas are believed to have rockets capable of hitting most places within Israel.
