Israeli Troops Invade Tulkarem
A large force of Israeli military invaded the northern West Bank city of Tulkarem Wednesday morning, Palestinian security sources reported.
The source said, a number of military vehicles entered the city and opened fire in the air in the early hours of the morning.
Last night, a Palestinian security officer shot a single bullet as an Israeli military vehicle was passing near Tulkarem. However, a Palestinian security chief says the bullet was fired by mistake and no injuries were reported.
On his part, Talal Dweikat, Governor of Tulkarem told the Maan News Agency that the situation is calm and the Israeli military withdrew shortly, especially that the PA security officers evacuated the area after being informed by the Israeli district liaison office that the Israeli military is coming into the city.
Usually, as part of the security coordination, the Palestinian Police and security forces pull out from the streets when informed by the Israeli military that they are coming in.

IOF troops raid southern Gaza, round up 6 West Bankers
GAZA, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided eastern Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday morning amidst indiscriminate shooting at Palestinian residential quarters and agricultural land.
Local sources said that three IOF tanks escorted six bulldozers and advanced amidst random firing then bulldozed citizens' land.
Earlier at dawn Wednesday, IOF soldiers rounded up six Palestinians in various West Bank districts.
Locals said that soldiers broke into two homes in Tobas and questioned their inhabitants after searching them.
IOF soldiers also stormed Awarta village, southeast of Nablus, firing live bullets and sonic bombs in the process. They searched the homes of relatives of Amjad and Hakim Awad who were charged by Israel with killing five settlers in the nearby Itamar settlement in mid March before withdrawing from the village.

Israeli Troops Invade Bil'in and Injures Two Children
Bil'in PNN Two Palestinian children were injured, one critically, on Thursday, by Israeli troops gunfire as they invaded the village of Bil'in, central West Bank.
Local sources reported that Israeli troops stomed the village and searched homes, during the search troops fired tear gas, sound bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at residents injuring two children.
Nshma Abu Rahma, 15, was hit in his leg, while Jamal al-Khateeb was hit with a bullet in his face, both were moved to Ramallah city hospital for treatment. Doctors announced that al-Khateeb wounds are critical but will survive.
The village of Bil'in, near Ramallah, conducts a weekly protest against the Israeli wall since six years. In 2009 the Israeli High Court of Justice ruled in favor of the villagers and ordered the Israeli army to reroute the wall giving villagers half of land Israel took to build the wall.
The army still refuses to implement the court order and continue to attack villagers every Friday during the weekly protest and invade the village and search homes in other days of the week.

Israeli artillery fire injures 4 in central Gaza
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli forces fired on an area east of Al-Bureij camp in central Gaza Thursday evening, injuring four, including a woman and two children, local sources said.
Three artillery shells were fired into farm lands east of the refugee camp, eyewitnesses told Ma'an.
The injured were taken to Al-Aqsa hospital in the central Gaza region of Al-Wusta, but their injuries were not critical, the sources said.
An Israeli army spokeswoman said, "Early yesterday evening an IDF force identified a squad of terrorists who were identified planting an explosive device near the security fence in the central Gaza Strip. The force fired towards the squad, and did not identify a hit.
"Uninvolved civilians have apparently been injured. The IDF regrets that terrorists choose to operate from within civilian populations."
Areas adjacent to the border between the Strip and Israel see regular military activity by the Israeli army, who unilaterally impose a 'no-go' zone up to 1.5 kilometers from the fence, and frequently fire on the area.

IOF bulldozers raze factories east of Gaza
GAZA, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) crossed into eastern Gaza city on Thursday morning escorting huge bulldozers that destroyed Palestinian factories in the industrial area near the Mintar crossing.
Local sources said that the IOF soldiers also bulldozed agricultural land lots and destroyed electricity transformer stations.
They pointed out that the soldiers opened indiscriminate fire at nearby residential neighborhoods in the process.
The IOF command ordered closure of the Mintar crossing a few months ago and replaced it with the Karm Abu Salem, which is not adequately fit for crossing of enough goods needed by the Gaza Strip.

Tanks enter Gaza City industrial zone
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Several Israeli tanks penetrated Gaza's border on Thursday morning, entering the Gaza City industrial zone where they demolished an unknown number of factories, all which had been closed since 2005.
The industrial zone, near the now closed Karni crossing, is less than a kilometer away from the border, and was set up near the crossing to facilitate exports.
With the closure of the Karni crossing in 2007, leaving it to operate twice a week for the import of grains and construction materials, and the permanent closure of the crossing on 2 March, the industrial zone has lain dormant for the past four years.
Official sources in Gaza told Ma'an that sheds, and shelters formerly used by PA security forces before 2007 were also demolished during the incursion.
One official who preferred to remain anonymous said he was miffed by the move, saying the demolition had been carried out "despite the fact that this place is calm and there have been no operations by factions carried out from the zone."
An Israeli military spokeswoman said she was looking into the report.

IOF carry out violent raid on Tareq Ibn Ziyad school in Al-Khalil
Al-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Thursday morning violently stormed Tareq Ibn Ziyad school in the Old City of Al-Khalil and terrorized its students and teachers.
Eyewitnesses said the IOF encircled the school, knocked down its main gate before spreading in its courtyard.
They also broke into classrooms in a violent way forcing students and teachers to gather in the school yard.
The IOF have not given an explanation for such savage act.
In another incident, the IOF and Jewish settlers intensified their attacks against Palestinian citizens and their property in Al-Khalil city on the occasion of their purim holiday.
The IOF stormed many villages and towns in Al-Khalil city during this Jewish occasion and erected barriers throughout the city searching cars, checking IDs, and detaining citizens.
The armed Jewish settlers, for their part, under military protection carried out many burglaries and acts of sabotage against the Palestinians and their agricultural property, while the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) issued decisions ordering some Palestinian farmers and villagers to evacuate their lands and hand them over to settlers.
In the same context, Jewish settlers on Thursday morning started to carry out construction activities to expand an outpost near Itamar settlement that was build on the territory of Awarta village southeast of Nablus city.
Palestinian sources said the IOF soldiers, for their part, embarked on building a road leading to this new outpost that the settlers established in response to the killing of five settlers from Itamar.
The IOF also proceeded to set up electricity towers in the area to power three mobile homes and three tents erected by the settlers.

Israel troops destroy structures by Gaza crossing
GAZA CITY (AFP) -- Israeli troops made a brief incursion into Gaza early on Thursday to demolish several buildings which the army said were being used by "terrorist organizations".
Palestinians said the buildings were warehouses holding goods which had been transferred to the Gaza Strip via the nearby Karni crossing, which Israel shut down earlier this year.
Witnesses said the buildings contained assorted equipment, children's diapers, scrap metal and cleaning detergent. The goods were damaged during the destruction of the warehouses.
The operation also damaged a room holding the electrical generators for the industrial zone near the Karni crossing, they said.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said the operation was intended to raze buildings being used by "terrorist organizations" in the Gaza Strip.
"Israel Defense Forces dismantled structures that previously were a part of the Karni crossing, which were used by terrorist organizations to execute terrorist activities against IDF soldiers and Israeli civilians," she said.
"In light of security assessments and alerts of terrorist activity from the area, (the region's commander) Major-General Tal Russo ordered the closure and the dismantling of the Karni crossing approximately two months ago," she added.
Goods that had previously been transferred into Gaza through Karni, which sits adjacent to Gaza City on the coastal territory's eastern border with Israel, are now transferred through the Kerem Shalom crossing in the south.
Palestinian merchants and truck drivers have complained that the southern crossing is inconvenient, as it lies further than Karni from Gaza's main population center, Gaza City.

Israeli soldier hurls grenade near Aqsa Mosque
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- An Israeli soldier hurled a grenade late Wednesday night in the courtyard of the Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
An Israeli patrol vehicle parked near the eastern wall of the mosque, Palestinian witnesses reported. Then, a soldier exited and threw an explosive grenade at a bush area in the courtyard and fled the scene towards the Mount of Olives. However, there was no report of injury or damage.
In a related development, extremist Jewish groups have boosted presence outside of the Aqsa Mosque and roamed the mosque's courtyards under the protection of Israeli soldiers and police.
A mosque security guard said Israeli police have pushed more of its elements to support its forces stationed at the Aqsa Mosque's Dome of the Rock, while Palestinian worshipers stationed at the mosque since dawn prayers have carefully watched the Jewish settlers who have entered the sacred zone. The worshippers said they would confront attempts to perform Jewish rituals in the courtyard.

No Fly Zone over Palestine! Children’s Human Chain Gaza – in pictures
Human Chain with Samouni Children by Ken O’Keefe
We shall make a human chain with the children of Gaza, including the Samouni children, so as to spell out NO FLY ZONE OVER PALESTINE and tell the world that Israel’s bombings of Gaza must stop.
We intend to remind the world how the children of Palestine are terrorized and murdered by Israeli air power on a regular basis. We intend to tell the story of how the people of Gaza suffer the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder from the horrific bombardment of Gaza during Operation Cast Lead.
We demand that the good people of the world acknowledge that Israeli planes simply flying over Palestine is an intentional source of panic and fear, of state sponsored terrorism, for countless people in Gaza, especially the children.
There are kids in Gaza that wet themselves at night for fear of being bombed again when they hear Israeli aircraft overhead. And this is a nearly daily occurrence.
There are children here that have seen loved ones crushed, bleeding, burned and dying, some hit with White Phosphorus, as a result of Israeli bombings. Some of these children were seriously wounded themselves. One 11-year-old girl I know personally (from the Samouni family) still has pieces of an Israeli rocket in her head from a bombing during Operation Cast Lead.
To this day this injury causes her to bleed from her nose and she has other neurological issues as yet undiagnosed and unresolved. This is but one story but it makes the point that not only memories are embedded in these children forever, each time a jet, a drone or helicopter gunship flies overhead, the ongoing nightmare of what may come is re-visited.
I ask every parent out there to imagine your child continuously traumatized and terrified in the name of “fighting terrorism”. Ask yourself how you would feel about being continuously bombarded by the fourth largest military in the world and having no way at all to protect your child from fear or harm? How would you feel?
Now think about how you play a direct role in the terrorizing of children in Palestine if you are a UK or American citizen. Your governments continue to supply the very same weapons used to carry out these missions. Maybe you in particular should do something to stop this homegrown madness, and if you are already doing something then maybe you should do more?
Make no mistake; the flying of Israeli aircraft over Palestine is in itself a form of terrorism. Bombing with “high precision” weapons that continue to hit innocent people is a war crime and terrorism; and this is happening regularly. So what the hell are we doing about it?
Some may say; “what difference will a picture make?” Well I believe the picture we seek to take will make a difference. We will gather around 200 schoolchildren of Gaza on Thursday April 21, 2011 and these children will form a human chain that will spell out the words ‘NO FLY ZONE OVER GAZA’.
As we do this let us face another shameful fact, the NO FLY ZONE OVER LIBYA is pure, unadulterated oil stealing hypocrisy posing as “humanitarian intervention”. If there were ever anything genuinely humane about Western intervention a NO FLY ZONE OVER PALESTINE would have been implemented decades ago. But the Palestinians have no oil, and they certainly have no air defenses, and so the innocent people of Gaza continue to be bombed with impunity.
How bloody stupid, powerless and hypocritical must we the people have become to allow unhindered bombings of Palestine for decades while doing nothing effective to stop it, meanwhile sitting back to watch a NO FLY ZONE OVER LIBYA be put into place in little more than a week or two?
Face it people, we in the West remain staggeringly complacent and falsely inhumane when we allow such hypocrisies to be flaunted right in front of our faces. And so it is that those of us who are still human are compelled to do something.
Symbols have power and the extent of that power is derived from the meaning and intensity people affix to the symbols. We intend to create a powerful global symbol made of a message sent directly from the children of Gaza, to the people of the world. Now whether the world listens and responds to these children is yet to be seen, but at the very least we shall send this message. We hope that our photograph captures the message to such an extent that people are motivated to do more.
Ultimately seek to have this message heeded to such a point that Israeli aircraft will no longer be able to terrorize the people/children of Gaza/Palestine. And if not, every single time another Israeli bomb drops on the innocents of Palestine, this picture shall be put forward as the demand of a truly sane and humane international community.
The true cost of bringing 200 children to the spot to form the human chain is roughly $300 but the minimum amount to request with Indiegogo is $500, thus if we receive $500 or more we will look to bring more children as we must supply travel by bus and a minimum of refreshments for the kids. If the amount we recieve is more than needed to do what we intend to do then the remainder will be given to the Samouni Project.

Gaza border: UN workers hurt in blast
Three United Nations workers sustain light to moderate wounds in what Palestinians initially claim was IDF attack. Army denies claim, says blast occurred when tractor climbed over explosive device.
A blast was heard Friday morning in the Karni crossing area on the Gaza Strip border. Three United Nations workers were hurt and sustained light to moderate wounds.
Gaza sources initially reported that the three were hurt by a shell fired by an Israeli tank force. The IDF denied striking in Gaza and said the blast was caused by the firing of a Palestinian mortar shell. IDF elements described the incident as a "failed Hamas launch."
However, a subsequent IDF inquiry suggested the explosion may have occurred after a tractor had climbed over an explosive device.
The last attack from Gaza took place on Passover eve. Several hours before the Seder, a Qassam rocket fired from northern Gaza exploded in an open area near a Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council kibbutz.
The Color Red alert sounded in the area, as well is in Sderot. No injuries or damage were reported.

Medics: 3 injured as Israeli tanks shell Gaza
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Three Palestinians were injured Friday in Israeli tank shelling east of Gaza City, medics said.
Palestinian medics said three factory workers sustained multiple injuries in Ash-Shuja'iyeh and were transferred to the Ash-Shifa Hospital.
An Israeli military spokesman said no tanks had opened fire in the area on Friday.
On Thursday, the Israeli army entered Gaza and demolished several buildings near the northern Karni crossing. The military said the buildings were used by "terrorist organizations," but Palestinians said they were warehouses holding goods which had entered through the crossing.
Witnesses said the buildings contained assorted equipment, children's diapers, scrap metal and cleaning detergent. The goods were damaged during the destruction of the warehouses.
The operation also damaged a room holding the electrical generators for the industrial zone near the Karni crossing, they said.

Medics: Farmer shot in northern Gaza
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- A farmer was hospitalized Thursday after Israeli soldiers shot him as he worked on his land in northern Gaza, medics said.
The 45-year-old man was shot in his stomach in the Abu Safieyah area of Beit Lahiya and transferred to the Kamal Adwan Hospital, medical services spokesman Adham Abu Salmiya said.
Abu Salmiya added that Israeli soldiers opened fire on residents of Beit Lahiya almost daily.
Israel unilaterally imposes a no-go zone along the border inside the Gaza Strip, and soldiers frequently shoot at Palestinians inside the area.
In Oxfam's latest report, the international organization said "In practice, Israel restricts access to agricultural land up to 1,000-1,500 metres from the fence, which accounts for more than 30% of Gaza's agricultural land and a significant number of water wells. Most of the Gaza Strip's animal production is also concentrated in this area."
