Palestinians retaliate against Israeli attacks on Gaza
The remains of a rocket launched from the Gaza Strip which hit a border patrol base near the kibbutz of Yad Mordechay on June 19,2012.
Palestinian fighters in the Gaza Strip have fired a rocket on the southern region of Eshkol to retaliate against the Israeli strikes on the besieged enclave.
Gazan resistance fighters conducted the attack on the southern region of the occupied territories on Friday.
At least 19 Palestinians were killed and 70 others wounded in more than 58 Israeli attacks on the blockaded strip in June, according to the Palestinian officials.
The Israeli military frequently attacks the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
In addition to airstrikes and ground attacks, the Tel Aviv regime also denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, including the freedom of movement and the right to decent living, work, health and education.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

Witnesses: Military vehicles enter Gaza border
Israeli military vehicles crossed into the southern Gaza Strip early Friday, residents told Ma'an, reporting the sound of heavy gunfire in the area.
No injuries have been reported.
Several military vehicles entered dozens of meters near al-Shouka, east of Rafah, the same site where tanks and bulldozers fired guns and launched smoke bombs on Thursday, according to witnesses.
An Israeli military spokesman said there was nothing but "very routine activity" in the region and no gunfire towards Gaza.
Meanwhile, a militant group in Gaza claimed responsibility for a clash near Gaza City on Thursday.
The Al-Mujahidin Brigades said it blocked Israeli military from entering Gaza near the Karni crossing. There were no further details about the clash.

Severed head found near Israeli crossing in Sinai
Bedouins found a severed head near Egypt's border with Israel, security officials said Friday, indicating that jihadi groups in the Sinai were behind the murder.
Security sources said the head, found near al-Ouja crossing with Israel, most likely belonged to Mnayzel Barikat, who disappeared two days ago.
Barikat was seized by jihadi groups, who accuse him of cooperating with Israel in the assassination of a jihadi militant in the Sinai peninsula on Sunday, the sources said.
Security officials believe the jihadi organizations are behind the decapitation.
Two others suspected of involvement in Sunday's attack fled to Israel, one accompanied by his wife, residents and security officials said.
Ibrahim Owida Nasser Madan was killed in an explosion while riding his motorcycle south of Al-Qasiya, 15 kilometers from the Israeli border.
At the time, an Egyptian intelligence report said he was hit by a missile fired by an Israeli drone. Other officials told Ma'an that Madan may have been killed by a missile which exploded while militants were trying to launch it.
Israel told Egyptian authorities it was not involved in the incident, Egyptian security sources said.
Madan, a member of a Jihadi militant group, had just been released by Egyptian security services after he was detained a few days ago during an Egyptian security campaign in northern Sinai, the intelligence report said.
Meanwhile, high-level security officials in Sinai on Friday expressed disappointment in what they called the failure of a military campaign against Jihadi militants in the Egyptian territory.
Egyptian forces in the Sinai began withdrawing some deployments on Thursday, security sources said, after a deal was reportedly struck with jihadi groups to cease hostilities.
Egypt's Middle East News Agency insisted 'Operation Eagle' -- launched early August after a deadly attack on Egyptian border guards -- was ongoing.
Egyptian security experts and political figures told Ma'an the drawdown of forces was "caving in to Jihadi groups' threats and Israeli and US pressure to limit military presence (in the border Sinai region)."
Security officials said they had submitted a report to Egypt's military leadership showing that around 500 jihadi militants are hiding in seven locations in the central Sinai desert, and complained it had not been followed up.

Calls for capturing Israeli soldiers in order to release Palestinian prisoners
GAZA, (PIC)-- The prisoners Committee for the National and Islamic Forces organized on Monday a mass rally in Gaza in solidarity with the prisoners, in light of occupation attempts to evade implementation of the agreement signed with captive movement.
The demonstrators started marching from outside the Red Cross headquarters in Gaza, and headed to the headquarters of United Nations. They were raising Palestinian flags and chanting slogans demanding the international institutions to intervene in order to stop the occupation's crimes and violations against the prisoners.
The participants also called for activating attempts to capture Israeli soldiers, since it is the only available option to force the occupation to release the Palestinian captives.
The liberated prisoner Tawfiq Abu An’im, speaking to the prisoners Committee, said that hunger strike became the prisoners' sole weapon inside the jails, especially that international institutions and human rights organizations are silent towards the violations the captives have been exposed to.
He also called on the International institutions to take effective actions to end the suffering of prisoners, noting that their silence regarding the state of the hunger strikers confirms their bias to the occupation.
The ex-prisoner appealed to the Arab Republic of Egypt, being the sponsor of the recent prisoner exchange deal and Al-Karama (dignity) agreement, to put pressure on the occupation to end the suffering of the hunger strikers and to implement the terms of the recent agreements.
Army: “Man Drops Explosive Bag At Roadblock”
The Israeli military reported Monday that a Palestinian man dropped a bag filled with explosives a roadblock near N’ilin village, near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, and fled the scene. Explosive experts arrived at detonated the explosives in a controlled explosion.
Israeli Ynet News reported that four pipe bombs were found in the bag and were safely detonated by an explosive expert, and that the army initiated a campaign to locate and arrest the man who managed to escape after dropping the bag.
The Ynet said that the man arrived at the roadblock without a permission to enter Israel, and the soldiers turned him away.
Shortly afterwards, the man returned carrying a bag, and when the soldiers wanted to search him, he threw it at them and ran away.
The soldiers ordered the roadblock sealed until explosive experts managed to detonate the explosives; dozens of Israeli soldiers were then deployed in the area and started searching it in an attempt to locate the man and others who are believed to be involved in the attempted attack.

Security forces confiscated homemade projectiles and light weapons belonging to Salafi militants, and detained 20 fighters, the group said.
On Wednesday, Israeli forces killed three Palestinians in an air strike which the military said foiled their attempt to fire rockets from central Gaza into Israel.

The group said in a statement it had aimed grad rockets at the "Israeli settlement Netivot," a town in southern Israel.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said a rocket hit Israel's Eshkol region early Saturday, without causing injuries or damage, and another missile alert had sounded.
The Shura Council of Mujahideen said it was firing on Israel in response to the killing of six people in Israeli airstrikes on Gaza last week, as well as Israeli policies towards Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Beersheba mosque, where Israel held a wine festival this week.

Israel: “Two Missiles Fired From Gaza”
Israeli sources reported that two Grad shells were fired, overnight Saturday, from the Gaza Strip into the Netivot settlement, leading to a number of mild injuries. The latest incident comes a few days after the Israeli army killed six Palestinians in the coastal region.
Israeli “Jerusalem Post” reported on its website that a grad missile was fired into Beersheba (Be’er Al-Sabe’), south of the country, and that the missile landed in an open area leading to no injuries or damages.
The Jerusalem Post added that another missile was fired into Netivot hitting two homes causing extensive damage. Three Israelis were mildly injured as they fell down while running to shelters.
It is worth mentioning that Israeli soldiers, on Wednesday at night and on Thursday morning, killed six Palestinians during a series of air strikes targeting the Gaza Strip.
Three Palestinians were killed, late on Wednesday at night, when the Israeli Air Force fired missiles into an area east of the Al-Boreij refugee camp, in central Gaza, and three more Palestinians were killed, on Thursday morning, when the army bombarded Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

US judge: Hamas financing case can proceed against Arab Bank
Mati Gill
By Jessica Dye
NEW YORK (Reuters) -- A US man can proceed with a lawsuit seeking to hold Arab Bank liable for providing material support to Hamas, a federal judge ruled Wednesday.
US District Judge Jack Weinstein in Brooklyn, New York, denied Jordan-based Arab Bank's motion to dismiss the entire 2011 lawsuit filed by Mati Gill, a dual citizen of the United States and Israel who was wounded in 2008 by gunshots fired from Gaza into Israel.
According to the ruling, a speaker purporting to represent Hamas claimed credit for the shooting that injured Gill. Gill is seeking monetary damages from Arab Bank under the US Anti-Terrorism Act, charging that the bank violated the law by providing financial support to Hamas.
Hamas, along with its leaders and affiliates, is designated a foreign terrorist organization by the United States.
Arab Bank denied the claims, saying Gill was caught in the crossfire between two military forces and that he had failed to show Arab Bank's liability for the shooting.
Weinstein dismissed one of Gill's claims, which sought to hold Arab Bank responsible for aiding and abetting Hamas's shooting, finding that the act did not provide for secondary liability.
He said that Arab Bank could be held liable for Gill's remaining claims, which include allegations that the bank conspired with Hamas to commit acts of violence and provided material support to the group.
The case will now proceed with Arab Bank's motion for summary judgment, which is due in the coming weeks. If the case survives that hurdle, it will go to trial on Nov. 19.
Avi Dichter
In his ruling, Weinstein laid out a number of factors that Gill will have to establish to advance his case. They include proving the bank acted with knowledge that funds it made available to Hamas's political branch had made their way to its military operations; that Hamas used the money to fund the attack; that the bank had been aware that the funds could be used to harm US citizens.
An attorney for Gill, Gary Osen, said he was heartened by Weinstein's ruling, which brings the case one step closer to trial.
"If we get through the next few hurdles that have been laid out on the schedule, the judge has indicated that he recognizes the public policy importance and significance of this case," Osen said.
Arab Bank said in a statement the ruling "clearly outlined the proof that will be required for the plaintiff to survive a summary judgment motion, which the bank plans to file next month."
The case is one of several filed in federal court in Brooklyn against banks on behalf of US citizens who were harmed or killed in attacks by Hamas-affiliated groups. It could be among the first of those to go to trial.
The case is Gill v. Arab Bank, US District Court for the Eastern District of New York, No. 11-3706.
