Radwan stressed on the right of the resistance to defend itself
GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Ismail Radwan, a Hamas leader, confirmed that the recent Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip demonstrates the enemy's aggression against Gaza.
Radwan told PIC in an exclusive statement on Sunday that he holds the Zionist occupation fully responsible for the recent escalation, stressing on the resistance's right to defend itself against this new escalation.
He also said that the occupation is trying to incite against the Gaza Strip, by issuing statements claiming that the resistance has sophisticated weapons to justify attacking it, in addition to targeting resistance fighters in an attempt to thwart Palestinian reconciliation and the ongoing efforts to achieve it.
The IOF had carried out airstrikes at dawn Sunday, targeting scattered areas in Deir al-Balah, Nuseirat and Beit Lahia.
According to sources and eyewitnesses, the IOF warplanes launched a missile at a chicken farm in the region of Um al-Nasser, west of Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, and targeted with two other missiles agricultural lands and a wood depot to the south of Deir al Balah.
Furthermore, IOF warplanes fired two missiles on agricultural lands near the Central Police Station targeting the vicinity of Al-Feki family's house in Nuseirat camp, and injuring seven citizens, including 4 children whose wounds were described as moderate.

Only resistance can liberate Palestinians: Ahmadinejad
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (R) meets with the secretary general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Ahmed Jibril, Tehran, June 10, 2012.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says perseverance on the path of resistance is the only way to emancipate Palestinians and bring the Zionist regime down.
The destruction of the Zionist regime (Israel) is possible only through continuing on the path of resistance, Ahmadinejad said in a Sunday meeting with Secretary General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmed Jibril.
President Ahmadinejad described Israel as the main and most dangerous enemy of the regional countries and said the “fabricated regime” symbolized the West and the US, acting as their hatchway to the Middle East.
The Iranian chief executive also called Israel the main foothold of Western countries, in particular the US, in the region, adding that the West seeks to guarantee the survival of Israel.
He said that Israel is already on the decline and called on all the freedom- and justice-seeking nations of the world to pool their resources to defeat Israel.
He also voiced Iran's strong support for the Palestinians and resistance groups.
Jibril, for his part, said that the Islamic Revolution in Iran had a great influence on regional nations and the Islamic world. He also praised Iran's progress in various areas as an achievement for all Muslim countries.

PRC brigades: 15 rockets fired into Israel
The military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees said it fired 15 rockets into southern Israel on Tuesday in response to Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Abu Mujahed, spokesman of the Nasser Salah ad-Din Brigades, said Israel had started the escalation in fighting. Israel has killed six Palestinians since Monday in a series of airstrikes and tank shelling.
Abu Mujahed said the brigades fired 12 rockets across the border on Tuesday evening. The Palestinian resistance will not stand idle while Israel attacks the Palestinian people, he said in a statement.
Earlier Tuesday, the brigades said it fired three projectiles across the border. "The enemy won't impose the regulations of the game this time on the resistance. If the enemy does not stop its crimes, the resistance will respond with all available defense means," the group said in a statement.
An Israeli military spokesman told Ma'an that militants in Gaza fired 25 rockets into southern Israel on Tuesday, causing no injuries.
The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said it fired two mortar shells at Israel's Kissufim military base shortly before 4 p.m.
Hamas' armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, on Tuesday fired its first cross-border rockets in more than a year as fighting along the Israel-Gaza frontier flared for a second day.
For months, Hamas has stayed on the sidelines and discouraged smaller militant groups from firing rockets into Israel.
Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said Israel's barrage of attacks prompted the group's military wing "to take a firm stance" and launch rockets.
Although Hamas usually holds its fire under an unofficial truce, Israel says it holds the ruling party responsible for any attacks from the Gaza Strip.

E.Q.B. fired four missiles at the military site "Zikeem"
Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades, the military wing affiliated to the Islamic resistance Hamas Movement, announced in a statement that it fired four missiles at a military base near Gaza strip.
The Brigades' statement detailed that the firing took place in the early morning of June 19th, 2012
The Qassam resistance men launched four missiles at the military "Ziteem" near Gaza strip borders.
The Statement pointed out that al-Qassam Brigades declared its responsibility for this operation as a response to Israeli aggression on the Palestinian civilians; the Israeli Forces killed five Palestinians across Gaza strip during the past two days.
"This operation is part of the repelling operations against the occupation assaults on Gaza Strip and West Bank, and as a response for the ongoing aggression against Palestinian people," the Brigades said.

South under fire: 4 rockets fired at Ashkelon
Palestinians fire rockets at south early Tuesday which apparently hit open areas south of Ashkelon. Earlier, Air Force hit terrorist cell in Gaza in third strike in 24 hours.
Several hours after the Air Force struck Gaza, rockets were fired at the Ashkelon area as air raid sirens sounded in the region. The IDF detected the launching of four rockets, which apparently hit open areas south of Ashkelon. No injuries or damage were reported.
Air Force aircraft fired at a Palestinian terror cell early Tuesday as its members were attempting to plant an explosive device near the central Gaza Strip border fence.
The army said the attack target was hit. Palestinian sources later confirmed that the strike left casualties on the Palestinian side; no further details were provided.
“The IDF will not tolerate any bid to harm the State of Israel’s citizens and IDF soldiers and will continue to operate against any element that utilizes terror against the State of Israel,” the military said following the strike. “The Hamas terror group is the address and it bears the responsibility.”
On Monday, Two Palestinian terrorists were killed when Israeli aircraft targeted a rocket-launching cell in northern Gaza.
The aerial strike came just a few hours after Palestinian terrorists fired a rocket from Gaza towards the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. There were no reports of injury or damage.
Earlier Monday, at around noon, the Israel Air Force struck targets in the northern Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said two Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed in the attack.
According to Palestinian reports, the two were targeted while riding a motorcycle near the north Gaza town of Beit Hanoun.

Bardawil: No one-sided calm
Hamas leader Dr. Salah Al-Bardawil has refused the idea of a one-sided calm with the Israeli occupation forces.
Bardawil told Quds Press on Wednesday that the Israeli military escalation was meant to test the Palestinian resistance and to impose new conditions on it, which, he said, is rejected.
He said that the “Zionist enemy” was exploiting Cairo’s preoccupation with the presidential elections and the Arab countries’ concern with their internal affairs to launch its aggression.
Asked whether there were any new efforts to mediate calm, Bardawil said, “We are concerned with defending our people” and any requests for calm would be studied on condition that it should not be one-sided.
He opined, however, that the escalation was not heading to an all-out war due to a number of factors including the strength of resistance, American presidential race, and the political changes in the Arab region, which make any Israeli military adventure an uncalculated risk.

Al-Quds Brigades declares a state of general mobilization
The armed wing of Islamic Jihad, Al-Quds Brigades, has declared a state of general mobilization in all sites and frontlines, calling on its fighters to stay in a state of readiness.
Al-Quds Brigades's announcement came after the recent Israeli aggression on the Gaza strip, where seven people were killed and others injured during the Israeli aerial raids on and artillery bombardment of the Gaza Strip since Monday.
Abu Ahmed, the official media spokesman of the Al-Quds Brigades, has warned, in a statement, against the continued Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and fighters.
Al-Quds Brigades is ready to respond strongly on the Israeli aggression, our silence will not be long and all the options are available in light of the killings and the targeting of children and civilians in the Gaza Strip, he said.
Abu Ahmad added that the Zionist government is trying to export its internal crisis through fighting with the Palestinian resistance, pointing out that Al-Quds Brigades' fighters will direct a painful strike to the Hebrew state at the appropriate time and place if the Israeli aggression against Gaza escalated.
He called on the resistance factions' fighters to take more necessary security precautions to avoid occupation's treachery, and to unite in the battlefield to direct a hard strike to the Zionist entity as a response to its continued crimes.

Hamas wing says targeting Israeli military sites
An Israeli police explosives expert inspects the remains of a rocket, fired by militants in Gaza, that landed in Kibbutz Kissufim outside the central Gaza Strip on June 20, 2012.
Hamas' armed wing said it fired a barrage of rockets, missiles and mortars at Israeli military targets on Wednesday in response to Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Qassam Brigades said it fired 24 rockets, 10 missiles and nine mortars at Israeli army bases since dawn Wednesday.
"These operations are part of the repelling operations against the (Israeli) occupation assaults on Gaza Strip and West Bank, and as a response for the ongoing aggression against Palestinian people," the brigades said in a statement.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said at least 20 rockets were fired into southern Israel on Wednesday, without causing injuries.
A border policeman was wounded by a rocket on Tuesday night, she said. A rocket fired from Gaza had exploded inside a border police base in south Israel.
Israel has killed eight Palestinians in airstrikes and tank shelling on the Gaza Strip since Monday, including two Hamas militants.
Hamas joined in the hostilities on Tuesday, for the first time in over a year. The Al-Qassam Brigades usually holds its fire under an unofficial truce and Hamas in the past has discouraged smaller militant groups from firing at Israel.
Israel says it holds Hamas responsible for all attacks from the Gaza Strip.
Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said Tuesday that Israel's attacks prompted the group's military wing "to take a firm stance" and launch rockets.

Islamic Jihad 'committed to truce'
Boys look through a hospital window in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza on June 18
Islamic Jihad is committed to a truce with Israel in the interests of the Palestinian people, politburo member Sheikh Nafeth Azzam said Thursday.
Islamic Jihad's military wing the Al-Quds Brigades did not announce any rocket fire into Israel in the recent escalation in violence, although two of its members were killed in an Israeli airstrike on northern Gaza on Monday.
Eight Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since Monday. Several militant groups in Gaza, including Hamas' Al-Qassam Brigades, said they fired dozens of rockets across the border.
Azzam told Ma'an that Islamic Jihad was involved in talks with Egyptian mediators on Wednesday night to agree a truce. The Al-Qassam Brigades said it had agreed to sign up to the truce at midnight Wednesday.
Azzam said Islamic Jihad is reviewing the situation and there will be discussions between Palestinian factions and Egypt to ensure Israel commits to a truce.
Hamas militants have not fired any rockets since the ceasefire came into effect, but the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine's armed wing, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, said it fired eight projectiles on Thursday afternoon.
The Popular Resistance Committees' military wing, the Nasser al-Salah al-Din Brigades, said it fired three missiles into Israel on Thursday.
PRC spokesman Abu Mujahed told Ma'an the resistance factions were responding to Israeli attacks on al-Shujaiyeh and Khan Younis on Thursday and Israel's detention of six fishermen near Beit Lahiya late Wednesday evening.
The Popular Resistance Committees are monitoring Israeli actions and the resistance will respond immediately to any attacks, Abu Mujahed said.
Israel's ambassador to the UN Ron Prosor on Thursday complained to the Security Council about rocket fire from the Gaza Strip.
Responding to the complaint, Abu Mujahid said the UN council should realize that Israel started the escalation by assassinating PRC members. He added that Israel was a "professional liar" and such complaints were "nothing new."

Militant groups claim rocket fire despite truce talk
Nine rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip overnight Wednesday, Israel's army said.
Since midnight, eight rockets have hit southern Israel and a ninth was intercepted by the Iron Dome, an Israeli army spokesman told Ma'an Thursday.
No damage or injuries were reported.
Hamas' armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, fired eight rockets at Israel before midnight on Wednesday, a Ma'an correspondent said.
The Popular Resistance Committee's military wing, the Nasser al-Salah al-Din Brigades, said it had fired three missiles at southern Israel overnight, but said it will commit to a truce as long as Israel does.
A lesser-known Gaza-based faction, the al-Mujahedin Brigades, also claimed responsibility for rocket fire overnight Wednesday, as did the military wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine- General Command, the Jihad Jibril Brigades, Ma'an's correspondent said.
Hamas' military wing said on Wednesday it was ready to sign up to an Egyptian-brokered truce to end cross-border fighting after Israeli air strikes killed eight Palestinians in three days.
In a statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades said: "Responding to the Egyptian efforts, we and the armed resistance announce our commitment to stop this round of confrontation as long as the occupation stops this aggression."
Israel had no immediate comment. It customarily avoids responding whenever intermediaries reach an accord with Gaza militants as Israel refuses to recognize them citing the Islamists' refusal to acknowledge Israel's existence.
Israel has killed eight Palestinians in Gaza in a series of airstrikes and tank shelling since Sunday evening.
Militants have responded to the attacks by firing a barrage of rockets across the border into southern Israel.

Despite talk of truce, Gaza rockets fired at Ashkelon
Amid Egyptian efforts to broker ceasefire between Israel and armed Palestinian groups, two rockets fired from Hamas-ruled territory towards Ashkelon overnight; one apparently intercepted by Iron Dome; no injuries.
On Wednesday the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades said Gaza's armed groups are ready to end current round of escalation, but the rocket fire on south Israel continues: Two rockets were fired from the Hamas-ruled territory towards Ashkelon overnight Thursday.
One rocket was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system, while the second rocket landed in an open area south of the city. No one was hurt.
At approximately 1:30 pm a Qassam rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in open territory in th Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council. No one was wounded and no damaged was caused.
Earlier, at around 7:30 am, five rockets landed in the Negev's Eshkol Regional Council, but there were no reports of injuries or damage.
No less than 70 rockets hit Israel's southern region on Wednesday.
Following the attack on Ashkelon, Mayor Benny Vaknin ordered local elementary schools to remain closed Thursday. The mayor reached the decision following consultations with security establishment officials and parent committee representatives.
"The parents' committee representatives told me their children barely slept last night because of the sirens, and some of them suffer from anxiety. After consulting with security officials I decided to keep the schools closed," the mayor said.
"Despite the attempts to reach a ceasefire, two rockets were fired at the city overnight. We cannot count on it. The residents' safety is the most important thing."
High school and middle school students have already begun their summer vacation.
Attempts to broker ceasefire
Hamas' announcement followed efforts by Egypt to broker a ceasefire. The past three days have seen Gaza terrorists shell southern Israel almost incessantly, with over 120 Qassam rockets and mortars hitting western Negev communities.
"The current confrontation with the enemy was kept to a minimal exchange of fire – and it is best that the Israeli leaders understand that," the Izz al-Din al-Qassam statement said.
Despite the statement, at approximately 11 pm Wednesday three mortars were fired towards open areas in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. No injuries were reported.
At around 2 am the "Color Red" alert system was activated in Ashkelon and blasts were heard in the city – apparently due to the interception of a rocket by the Iron Dome system.
The current round of violence began on Monday when two Islamic Jihad terrorists were killed while trying to target IDF vehicles. Another six Palestinians were killed in an Israel Air Force strike in Gaza since then.
According to the Palestinians, a 14-year-old boy was killed Wednesday in an aerial attack on Gaza City. is father was injured, the sources claimed.

Al-Qassam launches 86 rocket counterattacks on Israeli targets so far
Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its rocket counterattacks are launched in retaliation to Israel's military aggression against the Gaza people, affirming 86 rockets and missiles have been fired so far.
Al-Qassam affirmed that Israel would pay dearly if it persisted in attacking Gaza and vowed to defend it by all means.
Different Israeli news reports affirmed that 18 Israelis including 11 border guards were wounded in Palestinian rocket attacks.
Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said the Palestinian resistance attacks caused material damage to Israeli property and infrastructure, and panic among Israeli soldiers and settlers.
Reporter for the Israeli army radio Tal Ephraim said that Hamas's recent response was surprising to Israel and entrapped it.
He opined that Hamas's ability to run its military operations with high levels of discipline and coordination unlike the other Palestinian factions and it was able to launch rocket attacks without sustaining losses in its ranks.
In a related context, local sources reported to the Palestinian information center (PIC) that four Palestinians, including two children, sustained different injuries during an Israeli aerial attack on Jabaliya north of Gaza on Wednesday evening.
The Israeli warplanes also bombed an area in Nuseirat refugee camp without reported injuries.
The IOF warplanes bombed a site in the central Gaza Strip refugee camp Nusseirat without reported injuries.
Two other Palestinians were also wounded, one seriously, on the same day during an airstrike on Beit Lahiya north of Gaza.

Said Victoria Nuland, the State Department Spokesperson, "Hateful, dangerous and provocative actions such as these are never justified."
She also said, "We note that the Israeli Government has condemned this heinous attack and pledged to bring the perpetrators to justice. We look to Israeli law enforcement officials to do so expeditiously."
Nuland also condemned the rocket fire from Gaza into southern Israel, saying that "there is no justification for the targeting of innocent civilians and call on those responsible to take immediate action to stop these cowardly acts."
Nuland called on the two political parties to exercise restraint and stop the violence.

Hamas ready for ceasefire 'if Israel stops its aggression' in Gaza
Momen al-Adam, 14 and Hadeel Haddad, 2
Following clashes in which Hamas fired rockets into Israel for first time in over a year, military wing says it is ready for truce.
Hamas has said it will commit to a ceasefire after more than 100 rockets were fired from Gaza into Israel in the past three days and eight Palestinians, including three teenagers, were killed in Israeli airstrikes.
In a statement on its website on Wednesday evening the Islamist organisation's military wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigade, said it and other militant groups in Gaza were responding "to Egyptian efforts … to stop this round of confrontation as long as the occupation stops this aggression". Egypt has played a key role in brokering earlier ceasefires.
Hamas had earlier announced its militants had fired rockets into Israel for the first time for more than a year. It has largely adhered to previous ceasefires because it is unwilling to provoke Israel into a major military confrontation.
The statement from the military wing warned that "the current confrontation with the enemy was kept to a minimal exchange of fire … and it is best that the Israeli leaders understand that. The resistance has taught Israel a valuable lesson and it should think long and hard before this kind of aggression towards Gaza happens again."
There were unconfirmed reports of five rockets landing in Israel early Thursday morning. Schools in southern towns close to Gaza will be closed again, and residents remain on high alert. Four Israeli border policemen suffered light to moderate injuries on Tuesday when a rocket landed near them, but most of the missiles have landed on open ground.
A 14-year-old Palestinian boy, Momen al-Adam, was reported killed on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike on a farm in Zeitoun in the north of Gaza. His father was wounded.
Israel also targeted two men it said were members of a "global jihad" organisation, the Tawhid and Jihad, which had played a "central role" in a cross-border attack from Egypt on Monday. Ghaleb Armilat was killed and Mohamed Rashdan was injured when their motorcycle was struck. The pair were "actively involved in planning another attack", according to statement from the Israeli Defence Forces.
An Israeli-Arab construction worker was killed in Monday's attack, and two militants were shot dead by Israeli soldiers.

Islamic Jihad stays on sidelines during Gaza violence
Islamic Jihad says it held its fire during recent Israeli raids on Gaza because the attacks were limited in scale, but political analysts suggest other motives.
On Sunday, Israel launched a series of airstrikes which killed eight Palestinians over three days, including two Islamic Jihad militants.
Islamic Jihad did not respond, but the military wings of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, the Popular Resistance Committees and several smaller brigades sent a volley of rockets into southern Israel and at Israeli military sites around Gaza.
Hamas' armed wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, on Tuesday fired its first rockets since April 2011. Hamas militants launched 120 projectiles before committing to a truce on Wednesday night.
Islamic Jihad leader Nafeth Azzam told Ma'an: "The escalation was not huge like the previous time, but we were ready and always available."
He added: "We were not pressured by any side whether to participate or not."
The movement is still abiding to the previous truce, he said.
Political analyst Yahya Rabbah said Islamic Jihad had led the resistance last time Israel heavily bombed Gaza.
"The Islamic Jihad movement ... took the entire burden of facing the occupation as most of the martyrs and the injured were its leaders and no one stood beside it until a truce was made through Egyptian mediation," Rabbah told Ma'an.
Islamic Jihad stayed on the sidelines this week "to see how others would face the Israeli aggression," Rabbah suggested.
On Monday, militants launched a cross-border attack from Egypt's Sinai desert which killed an Israeli civilian. Israel shot dead two of the attackers.
Rabbah said Cairo was sensitive to Israeli accusations that it had lost control of Sinai, and for this reason Islamic Jihad did not want to be involved in hostilities.
Meanwhile, analyst Akram Atallah said Islamic Jihad did not respond to the Israeli raids on Monday because it was still abiding by the previous truce.
"Suddenly the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, shelled Israeli villages and areas near Gaza but Islamic Jihad stayed committed (to the truce)," Atallah told Ma'an.
He suggested that the Al-Qassam Brigades ended its 15-month hiatus from firing rockets after making political calculations related to Egypt's presidential elections.
Hamas militants fired rockets to test Israel's reaction in light of regional changes, and for this reason Islamic Jihad did not participate.
Muslim Brotherhood candidate Muhammad Morsi on Monday claimed a victory in the elections although the result has yet to be announced.

Gaza 'truce' takes hold overnight
A truce reportedly brokered by Egypt between Israel and Gaza militants seemed to have taken effect overnight Saturday, as airstrikes and rocket fire held off after a week of deadly fighting.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said no rockets fired from the Gaza Strip had landed in Israel overnight, nor had the army conducted military operations.
Hamas official Ayman Taha told Gaza-based news site Safa press on Saturday that an agreement to halt hostilities that evening had been reached following Egyptian mediation. The deal is based on "calm for calm," Taha said.
The Egyptian ambassador to the Palestinian Authority did not return calls seeking comment.
Ofer Gendelman, spokesman for the Israeli Prime Minister, declined to discuss any efforts made via Egypt to reach a truce, but insisted that Israel will continue military actions on the Gaza Strip as long as rockets are fired into Israel.
Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday the army had "responded with force against those who tried to harm us and will use greater force if necessary," Israeli news site Ynet reported.
"Israel's policy was to exercise force if necessary in order to restore the calm to the south," he added.
Hamas' military wing the Al Qassam Brigades also issued a statement Saturday vowing it would continue to strike back at Israel as long as military operations on the Gaza Strip continued.
While the Al Qassam Brigades signed up to a truce mediated by Egypt on Wednesday night -- after Israeli airstrikes killed eight Palestinians in three days -- it quickly came unstuck as rockets and airstrikes continued.
Another five people have been killed in airstrikes since Friday, medical officials in Gaza say. Israel's military says it is targeting rocket-launchers and denied involvement in one of the deaths, of a 4-year-old boy on Saturday.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said 22 rockets fired from Gaza landed in south Israel on Saturday, wounding one Israeli man, but rocket fire abated in the evening.
Senior Fatah official Jamal Muheisen also said Saturday that West Bank authorities are in touch with Egypt and other nations to reach a truce between Israel and Gaza militants.

Israel intercepts rockets fired from Gaza
Two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel were intercepted by an Israeli missile shield on Tuesday evening, a military spokesman said.
Before a truce brokered late Saturday, Gaza militant groups fired dozens of rockets into Gaza as Israeli airstrikes pounded the coastal enclave, killing at least 12 Palestinians during a week of cross border violence.
One Israeli man was injured by shrapnel from a rocket, while medics estimate over 70 Palestinians were wounded.
The rockets fired Tuesday were blocked by Israel's Iron Dome, the army spokesman said.
The multi-million dollar missile defense system was installed in southern Israel in 2011 and is designed to intercept short-range projectiles.

Israeli military watchtower burned near Gaza
An Israeli military watchtower was burned on Friday evening, along with sensors and surveillance cameras during a large fire that broke out east of Juhr Al-Deek town, south east of Gaza city.
Eyewitnesses said that Palestinian resistance fighters fired a projectile that fell on Friday evening near the Camera military site, east of the town, where the explosion resulted in a large fire that broke out in the bush surrounding the tower.
The sources added that the fire spread rapidly to the rest of the regions and lands in the vicinity of Camera, an area of two kilometers, within the territories occupied in 1948.
The fire burned down the Israeli military watchtower in addition to the electric fence along that area and surveillance cameras and sensors in the Camera military site, which is considered the largest Israeli military site near Gaza. The fire also burned the sensors of Israel's Iron Dome anti-missile system.
The watchtower’s military equipment cost millions of dollars, as the Israeli army took a long time installing it to protect its security and its soldiers.
Israeli Fire fighters found great difficulty in extinguishing the fire which lasted for three hours after destroying large areas of the bush and the military site, and surveillance cameras and heat sensors.
