Israeli forces injure worker in northern Gaza
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- A Palestinian worker was injured by Israeli fire on Wednesday near the northern no-go area in Beit Lahiya.
Medical services spokesman Adham Abu Silmiyya said Muhammad Yousif Ma'rouf, 23, was injured as he collected scrap in the area.
Ma'rouf was transferred to the Kamal Odwan Hospital for treatment.
A spokeswoman for Israel's army said a force in the area identified "four suspects" approaching the area, calling on them to leave and firing warning shots. The representative said they failed to leave the area, and the force opened fire at their feet, identifying a hit.
On Tuesday, a Palestinian worker collecting stone aggregates near Gaza's northern border was injured when Israeli forces stationed near the Erez crossing opened fire.
The worker said he was collecting rubble from an evacuated settlement before the incident.

Demonstrator Shot with Banned 0.22 Live Bullet
Bil'in Just under 15 internationals and a similar number of Israelis joined the Palestinian demonstration against the land grabbing wall and the other evils of the occupation in Bil'in. The soldiers waited on the village side of the fence, but did not deter the demonstrators from marching directly at them, chanting and explaining to them why they shouldn't be there.
Two Palestinian farmers, a man and a woman, asked to cross over to their lands, but were physically blocked.
The organizers kept the shabab more or less at bay, and even the army surprisingly did not use the first four or five scattered stones as an excuse to open fire.
But when the demo was ready to disperse, the shabab and soldiers couldn't contain their eagerness, and decided to step things up with stones and gas.
The shabab had the dubious achievement of hitting no less than three journalists, one of them in the head. Later things escalated, culminating in Ashraf Khatib being shot in his calf with a 0.22 live bullet - a bullet that the army itself banned from use for crowd control.
0.22 live bullet
Hebron A smaller than usual group of about 40 Palestinian residents of Hebron and their supporters - including many young children from the segregated Israeli-controlled al-Sheikh neighborhood - carried signs, drummed and chanted while marching against the occupation and Jewish-only settlement in Hebron. The march was soon stopped by Israeli soldiers before even reaching the closed Shuhada street gate.
Although the demonstration remained calm and peaceful, the soldiers soon began pushing the protesters back. The protesters did not object and carried on with the demo at a spot the army conceived "secured" enough, a few dozen meters from the closed Shuhada gate. As in every demo, after a while the protesters began to march through the old city alleys?.? Settlers squirted water on the protesters and the Palestinian market as the march passed below their homes.
Following this, soldiers came to again physically push away the already going marchers, which were by then quite far from the settlers. Without neither justification nor consideration for the many young children attending, the soldiers threw a few sound bombs into the already moving away march as it neared its end.
Ni'ilin
Around 50 demonstrators marched from the village to the wall, where they shortly being attacked by the IDF soldiers, tear gas and live ammunition was used. The soldiers crossed the wall and ran after the demonstrators till the outskirt of the village where both side could not deal with the heat and after half and hour went back, the soldiers to the other side of the wall and the demonstrators with some victory songs back to center of the village.

Israeli soldiers ambush Palestinian workers in northern Gaza
GAZA, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) surrounded early Saturday morning a group of Palestinian workers in the northern Gaza Strip after opening fire at them.
Local sources in Beit Hanoun said IOF special forces carried out an incursion operation at dawn near the Erez crossing in Beit Hanoun in pursuit of a number of Palestinian workers collecting special kind of sand, which is used in construction.
The force ambushed the workers, who were in search of their livelihood, and shot directly in front of them when the workers tried to escape. But they were stopped by the heavy gunfire and surrounded by the special forces, the sources added.
One of the trapped workers told the sources by phone that the force had them surrounded from every direction. The phone call was then disconnected.
In a separate incident, IOF soldiers opened fire at farmers and other Palestinians in a town east of the southern Gaza Strip village of Khan Younis on Friday.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center that IOF troops sprayed heavy machine gun fire at the agricultural fields in the town of Qarara. They aimed at farmers working in on the land, and particularly at locals picking the harvest.
Sources added that the Israeli attack caused panic and confusion without report of injury.
In another report, IOF troops Thursday night fired machine guns at houses and farmlands in the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah. No injuries were reported.
Witnesses said IOF jeeps stationed near Karam Abu Salem, east of Rafah, proceeded to indiscriminately fire machine guns at farmers and their land and homes in the Al Deheniya and Al Shawka regions. Locals were prompted to evacuate their homes and move to a safer area for fear of danger against their lives.
Gaza Strip’s border areas have seen daily IOF incursion operations aimed at leveling agricultural areas and expanding military points.

Israel attacks police station in Gaza
Israeli Air Force F-16 fighter jets, file photo
Israeli warplanes have attacked the Gaza Strip, targeting a police station in the north of the besieged territory, a Press TV correspondent says.
Three civilian Palestinians were injured after three Israeli aircraft struck the station early on Thursday, the correspondent reported.
The report added that a large explosion followed by the strike caused panic among people and damaged the surrounding houses.
The reporter added that the warplanes were still flying at a low altitude over the attacked area.
The incident took place hours after Israeli warplanes violated the Gaza Strip's airspace, staging a mock raid over the besieged territory.

Israeli jets stage mock raid over Gaza
Israeli warplanes frequently violate Gaza's airspace.
Israeli warplanes have violated the Gaza Strip's airspace, staging a mock raid over the besieged Palestinian territory, reports say.
The fighter jets broke the sound barrier over Gaza and caused sonic booms as they flew over the tiny coastal silver, a Press TV correspondent reported on Wednesday.
Israeli warplanes frequently violate Gaza's airspace and bomb the coastal strip. The attacks mostly target Gaza's cross-border tunnels -- also known as Gaza's feeding tubes -- along Rafah, used to import vital supplies into the besieged enclave from Egypt.
Many Palestinians have been killed and wounded in Israeli air strikes.
The crippling land, sea, and air blockade of the Gaza Strip imposed by Israel and Egypt since June 2007, when Palestinian resistance movement Hamas took control of the enclave, has made the Gaza's 1.5 million inhabitants to heavily rely on the perilous tunnels as the sole means of obtaining essential supplies such as food and medicines.

Israeli airstrikes injure 9 in Gaza
An Israeli f-16 fighter jet
Continued unauthorized presence by the Israeli Air Force's over the Gaza Strip has been followed by the warplanes inflicting injuries on nine Palestinians.
A Wednesday Press TV report said the fighter planes had violated the Gaza airspace, staging a mock raid over the Palestinian territory.
The fighter jets caused sonic booms as they flew over the tiny coastal silver.
Reporting from the enclave on Thursday, a Press TV correspondent said, "At least three people have been injured, when a civilian car traveling in the Gaza Strip was targeted by a missile that was fired from an Israeli warplane."
"This came hours after six civilians were injured overnight by a series of airstrikes that targeted different areas across the Gaza Strip," he added.
"Israeli forces continue to open fire on scrap metal collectors, farmers, fishermen and airplanes do not leave the skies of Gaza, especially reconnaissance planes that are monitoring the activities here in the besieged coastal territory," the correspondent said.
Israeli forces carried out a self-proclaimed withdrawal from Gaza in 2005.
The military, however, continues to carry out regular bloody attacks on the enclave. Tel Aviv also retains its occupation of the Palestinian territories surrounding Gaza and has been keeping the sliver under an all-out land, naval and aerial blockade for more than three years.
The Israeli aircraft frequently overfly Gaza, bombing the tunnels under the strip's border with Egypt, which serve as the territory's only way of bringing in food, medicine and other direly-needed requirements.

IDF bombs targets in retaliation for rocket fire, Hamas source says strike targeted training camp.
Air Force crafts bombed targets in the northern Gaza Strip Wednesday night in response to the Qassam fire on the Negev earlier that day, the IDF said. Palestinian sources reported four injured.
