IOA to close Silwan district prior to massive Jewish marches
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) decided to cordon off tomorrow Silwan district in occupied Jerusalem ahead of the marches which extremist Jewish settlers intend to organize to celebrate the Jewish occupation of east Jerusalem and its "reunification" with the western part.
Head of the defense committee of Silwan Fakhri Abu Diyab told Quds Press on Saturday that the Israeli police decided to close all sides of the district on Sunday and prevent its residents from going to their jobs and schools or even leaving it for some purpose.
Abu Diyab added that the closure would be imposed to protect tens of thousands of Jewish settlers who will flock into east Jerusalem to participate in their annual march on the anniversary of occupying the eastern part of the holy city.
He noted that a large group of settlers would be marching towards the Gates of Al-Khalil, Al-Amud, Al-Maghariba, and then Al-Buraq wall and another group would be going around the Old City of Jerusalem before gathering in the wall square.

The Israeli undercover forces attacked and arrested Rami G’arib
Even though Rami G’arib lost his eye 2 years ago and he wasn’t part of the latest confrontations, it wasn’t a good enough reason for the Israeli undercover forces, they still attacked and arrested him while he was walking down the main street near the confrontations that happened in the Naqba day.
In his interview to the Bukra website Rami said “I was walking around the village’s street at the same time that the confrontations between the Palestinians and the Israeli forces were happening, suddenly I was tackled by The Undercover Forces, they dropped me to the ground, one of them put his finger into my eye until my glass eye came out, I couldn’t take the pain so i screamed and they sprayed pepper spray in my mouth and started beating me, they accused me of participating in the confrontations and arrested Me for 24 hours while ignoring the pains i was in, and finally they released me after nothing was proven”
Rami added that he have to put a new glass eye even though he can’t afford it because he haven’t worked since he lost his eye 2 years ago.
Rami lost his right eye during a violent confrontations that happened in the Essawiye village at 13.3.2010 day that was know by “The Nafir Day”, the confrontations were a protest against building the so called third temple on the Aqsa mosque, and even back then he didn’t take a part in these protests.
He is responsible for a family of 5 members, his mother, sister, wife and kids. And ever since he didn’t work, and his previous job didn’t consider his injury, the Health Insurance is refusing to provide him his special needs and the Employment offices are refusing to get him any alternative job or pay him any basic salary.

Israel set to impose further limits on privacy
Avitar Cohen working for INPA ,worked for Elad previously
The Israeli Ministry of Justice (MoJ) is proposing a new law that would allow a small number of official organizations to access public telephone calls, emails, and the contents of personal computers.
Officer of INPA is in the Islamic Cemetery
This law would open the way for the Israel Antiquities Authority and the National Parks Authority to use what is known as “Confidential Eavesdropping,” a system used by Israeli police and military intelligence to track emails and access the content of personal computers.
INPA Officer protected by Israeli forces in a Palestinian private land
For Palestinians, this law is another example of the violation of the democratic principles that Israel claims to uphold. This law is racially biased targeting Palestinians while helping settlers’ organizations take over Palestinian lands, using “democracy” as a catchword to justify the law. In the opinion of Palestinians, there is no need to create such a law because police and military intelligence are loyal to settlers’ organizations, and the same settlers control the Antiquities and National Parks Authorities.
Settlers’ organizations are the sole source of information for these authorities. A local Palestinian said that Israel is the country that most often violates the public’s right to privacy especially for Palestinians. For example, cameras have previously been planted inside Palestinians’ houses so the settlers can monitor their movements.

The Flag Procession” establishes the division of Jerusalem
Every year, thousands of extremist Israelis celebrate what they call “United Jerusalem day” through the “Flag Procession”, and every time they establish the division of Jerusalem, every year they march from West Jerusalem, invade the alleys of the old city in East Jerusalem and they plant destruction in the Arabic area by destroying anything that they meet in their way, anything that belongs to the Palestinians. They attacked people and buildings while they were supported by the Israeli authorities that ordered the Arab shops owners to close their businesses, according to the police they did that so no confrontations happens.
The double massage by the Israeli politic was so clear when Cavalier troops attacked a peaceful protest in front of Damascus Gate using the backs of their guns. The Israeli forces arrested many Palestinians, among them a woman.
They kept using violence towards the protesters that stood up against the Flag Procession, and they also attacked and arrested one of the Israelis that believe that East Jerusalem should be free of the Occupation.
An old Palestinian man said “They call it the Unity march, what unity? they are Fascists, they harasses us in our own homes, and forbid us from staying in them, would the Israeli authorities shut down the Israeli neighborhoods so Palestinians can march in them and scream death to the Jews like they scream death to the Arabs towards us and scream that we should be kicked out from our houses?” he adds “Everyone that criticizes Israel is called Anti Semi, but if you call these ones, that screams death to the Arabs, Fascists then it should be considered as a metaphor! I see no justice in the 21 century”.
A Palestinian young man said “We are protesting to send a massage to the world, we will not accept the occupation, and we will keep demanding our freedom forever”

Tension was all over the area, especially after the Israeli forces blocked the entrances and allowed the settlers to drive freely while the Palestinians were not allowed to use thier streets.

Israeli soldiers surround Al-Aqsa, raise Israeli flag
Israeli soldiers forcefully entered the courtyard of Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City on Monday afternoon, 28 May. The mosque, regarded as the third holiest site in Islam, was surrounded by close to 200 Israeli soldiers as they entered via Dung Gate (Bab al-Maq’rabeh) and raised a 3-meter high Israeli flag in the courtyard in celebration of the Shavuot ( Jewish harvest holiday).
The soldiers, scaling the mosque, then amassed on its roof and screamed “the Temple Mount, the Temple Mount” as they danced.
When Mosque volunteers attempted to intervene in the display, a verbal fight broke out between them and the soldiers. Police then arrived to escort the soldiers out of the Al-Aqsa complex, as tensions ran high throughout the Palestinian and Jewish areas of the Old City. Sheikh Azam al-Khatib of Al-Aqsa denounced the raising of the Israeli flag inside Al-Aqsa as a “provocative and dangerous act” in a climate of already heightened tensions. He stated that he has been in touch with police about pressing charges against those responsible.
The incursion is the second in two weeks, with a group of 85 uniformed soldiers entering Al-Aqsa Mosque on 21 May this year, in coordination with police. A group of 88 right-wing Israeli extremists were also permitted by police to enter Al-Aqsa as part of a “foreign tourism” program.

Right-wing attacks on Palestinians on the rise
A group of settlers protected by Israeli police after attacking local Palestinian boy
A young Palestinian boy was attacked by a gang of right-wing Israeli extremists in Wadi Hilweh district of Silwan on Monday 28 May. A dozen Israelis targeted the child, with the situation escalating to physical attack when local residents rushed to the scene after hearing the boy’s cries for help.
Reports were received of another attack on Tuesday morning, with a group of settlers scaling a Palestinian home in Wadi Hilweh while the owners were asleep to remove the Palestinian flag flying. Extremist attacks on Palestinians have risen sharply in recent months, with many assailants knowing that Israeli law enforcement’s bias in their favor allows them a high degree of impunity. Frequently Palestinians are arrested and imprisoned on highly questionable grounds while Israelis perpetuating violent crimes against Palestinians are rarely brought to justice

Serious cracks around Ein Silwan and the Mosque
One of the Muslim Waqf that the settlers are trying to control
Wadi Hilweh-Silwan Information center reports serious cracks never seen before on the Mosque of Silwan. This is a result of months of extreme excavations that the El’ad’s settler’s organization is doing alongside the Israeli authorities. One of the Mosque’s activists reports that the excavations are extending to new places beneath the mosque; he adds that their plan is to reach the southern side of Ein Silwan in order to take it under the El’ad organization’s control. It is expected El’ad will open the gate that belongs to the Muslim Waqf (The Muslim Endowments) so they connect it to their new tunnels.
The new cracks have already damaged local shops, the kindergarten, and the Mosque of Ein Silwan. The Mosque and the Kindergarten have been a struggle point between the settlers and the Palestinians for a long time. The locals of Silwan say that the Shahid (Martyr) Samer Sarhan paid for his life to defend the Mosque. A settler also shot at a Palestinian kid and at Ahmad Kara’een, a member of the Wadi Hilweh committee two years ago .
A few months ago the retaining southern wall collapsed as a result of the excavations. The Ein Silwan Mosque is only 730 Meter away from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the people of Silwan are protesting against the silence of the international community that has yet to lift a finger against the settler’s actions. Two weeks ago the Muslim Awqaf center spoke publicly against these actions.

Two children were arrested in Silwan
Arresting a minor at night in Silwan
At the early morning the Israeli Police arrested two children from Al Abasiya area, around 5 AM enormous Israeli forces broke into Palestinian houses and arrested
Hani Sarhan (12 years old) and
Taha Sarhan (10 years old).
The Israeli forces started a series of night arrests against minors, breaking the same International agreement that Israel signed, one of the main clauses of this agreement is never arrest children before 7 AM, and in case the police wanted to investigate the child he must be escorted by one of his parents, and his parents have the whole right to choose a lawyer but the Israeli authorities are not committing to these laws alongside the Public Prosecution that is applying accusations against these children.
The Lawyer of Damir’s Organization explained to us that when the Israeli authorities apply these official accusations against children it gives Israel the ability to put them in prison in the future, and it is an illegal move according to the International laws and even according to the Israeli laws.

Suhaib Al A’awar is 14 years old, he is a hard working pupil and consider his classroom as the main thing in his life, he have big plans for the world but he must minimize those plans so they fit in his small room since he is in a house arrest, Suhaib is considered a criminal in the eyes of the Israeli law.
Suhaib was arrested with 4 of his cousins and neighbor at the 3rd of May 2012, all of them are less than 15 years old, and soon as they were arrested, the Israeli doors got locked and the torture started, Suhaib tells us:
“They attacked me and the rest with serious beatings, their hits reached every spot in my body, I almost fainted a few times, my main concern was my mom, I kept thinking of her tears and her thoughts of how helpless she is to protect me, they didn’t even allow me to hug her or even say goodbye to her”.
Turning Suhaib back to the prison after a court hearing
Suhaib spent two hours at the police jeep until they brought his cousins and neighbor, they tried to fabricate accusations against him and when he rejected it he got beaten with his hands and feet handcuffed. The first investigation lasted 8 hours, then he was removed to the Israeli court that agreed to extend his arrest, Suhaib tells us:
“I was at the Maskubiye jail for 32 days and got out to the court 15 times, and each time I was beaten by the investigator or the jailer, I felt like a lost sheep among wolves, they didn’t care about my age, they saw me as if I was a the cruelest criminal in the world, they used to put a chair on my toes and sit on it with their big heavy bodies, I was screaming and begging them to stop but it made them continue so I decided to silent my screams so I won’t satisfy them”
.Suhaib continues: “They told me they will torture me like they torture the Hammas men, and I stayed in that situation for 11 days, 11 days of torture, investigations and isolated cells, they hardly gave me food, it was so little, and the isolated cells were disgusting and dirty”
Suhaib crying: “I couldn’t handle the smell and the Sewerage, I kept thinking of my mother, my father, I missed my brothers, thinking of them helped me ignore this dirty cell”A few days after his cousins were released; Elias Al A’awar kept sharing the cell with Suhaib, then was released to a house arrest, so Suhaib ended up alone in the cell..
“After I stayed alone”
Suhaib continues: “they dragged me through the holes and kept beating me, sometimes I felt the cell is very hot and sometimes I felt that my bones are freezing, I could hardly sleep because of the bugs in the cell and when I succeeded to shut my eyes the jailers kept knocking my door so I won’t sleep so I stayed awake for a few days”.
Now Suhaib is serving a house arrest at his grandmother, for now he is not allowed to go back to his house or to his school, his grandmother is also the mother of the martyr Muhammad Al Fataftta and the prisoners Kayed and Mousa Fataftta, Suhaib is explaining: “Keeping me in prison is easier than keeping me away from school, they are accusing me in throwing stones and Molotoves, even if they were rights, how can they deny me from education? .

Apparently there is an Israeli guy who works directly with the settlers and he asked the supervisors to erase pieces of the land that belongs to Palestinians in Wadi Hilweh in Silwan, he claimed it according to maps that the locals never saw or heard about before, the supervisores added peices of the land that originally belongs to the Ein Silwan Mosque , the kindergarten and a land that belongs to the Orthodoxic church.

The Municipality of Jerusalem is preparing to remove the Palestinian houses to build a Biblical garden in Silwan.
The municipality of Jerusalem set a dead line to remove a big part of the Palestinian houses in the Bustan area so they can build a Biblical garden that will be an extension to the Dahud settlement, the dead line for demolishing 29 Palestinian houses is the next September, the date holds political motives, it is near the Israeli election era, it is a perfect time for the Israeli right parties to compete against each others on who will hurt the Palestinian existence more, especially in Jerusalem and the historical Palestine in general.
It’s been 20 years (today) since the attempting of the settlers to establish a settlement in the Wadi Hilweh era in Silwan, Wadi Hilwe is formed by 205 housing units over 30 Acres, and still the El’ad settlement’s organization is trying to lead the settlements project in Silwan and the Aterat Cohanim organization is leading it in the specific area of Batten al Hawa in Silwan.
Bustan on the right, Wadi hilweh left , both are threatened to be demolished by the settlers and the municipality of Jerusalem
Within the Israeli hostility towards the Palestinian existence, a plan was revealed, the strategy is to work on the mixed cities such as Akka, Yafa Ramleh and Lyd and turn them into Jewish cities.
The plans already became actions, in Lyd for example; a separation wall was built between the Jews and the Arab areas, and a move that disconnected the Arab areas from Israel’s services, also in the South, Israel removed the legal status from the Naqab villages after it existed there since the Ottoman laws and the British Mandate, nowadays it became an unrecognized village and disconnected from the basic services such as drinking water and electricity.

UNITED NATIONS (Settlements in Palestinian Residential ares in East Jerusalem)
Nearly 200,000 Israeli settlers reside in settlements established in occupied East Jerusalem, which has been unlawfully annexed to Israel; 35% of the annexed areas were expropriated and allocated to settlements.
About 2,000 settlers live in the heart of Palestinian neighborhoods, in houses which have been taken overby various means, including the application of the Absentee Property Law and the processing in Israel courts of claims over properties allegedly owned by Jews prior to 1948, among others.
Such settlements are concentrated in the so-called ‘Holy Basin’ area – comprising the Muslim and Christian quarters of the Old City, Silwan, Sheikh Jarrah, At-Tur (Mount of Olives), Wadi Joz, Ras al-‘Amud, and Jabal Al Mukabbir.
Beit Hanina, a Palestinian suburb in the northern part of East Jerusalem, has most recently become the target for such settlement activities, which include a plan to build around 60 new housing units for settlers (Peace Now).
In April 2012, two Palestinian refugee families (comprising 13 people) were forcibly evicted by the Israeli authorities from their houses in Beit Hanina, following a court case brought by an Israeli citizen, supported by a settler association, claiming ownership over the property. The houses were subsequently handed over to settlers.
In Sheikh Jarrah, nine Palestinian families were evicted in 2008-9 and their homes handed over to settlers.Another 500 residents are at risk of forced eviction and displacement for the same reason. Similar incidents have taken place in the Old City, Jabal Al Mukabbar and Ras Al-‘Amud.
Since the beginning of 2009, one Palestinian was killed and at least 430 have been injured in the context of settler attacks and clashes with Israeli forces and private security guards in and around settlements in Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah alone.

NPA orders to remove the sign of the Information Center, flags and the decoration lights in Wadi Hilweh
The Order

The locals considers this order as a racist move since these kind of orders do not apply on the settlers, the opposite is right, the settlers put signs whenever and wherever they wish without asking anyone or any authority.
The Israeli National Parks Authority explained that the signs, the flags and the lights are effecting the whole view of their new National Park.
The removing order had a deadline, the signs must be removed until Saturday 12.5.12 and if it doesn’t happen their will be legal consequences including fines

New demolition warrants in Silwan
Admanstrive demolish order without pointing a name, or a building on a map
Sunday the 13th of May, Israeli forces invaded Silwan alongside Municipality workers to deliver 7 demolish orders in the Bustan and Ein al Lousa in Silwan.
The way the municipality workers normally attach the orders in the house entrance without writing a name on it which makes it hard for the people to resist legally in the Israeli courts, they need a lawyer to check if the warrant is real or it is an individual act by the municipality workers.
It happens a lot that the house owner gets many warrants in a short period of time as a result of the Israeli plans to turn this part of Silwan in to a` biblical garden empty from the natives, empty from the Palestinians, a garden that will serve the settlers and their tourism

Heavy armed forces spread in the area after the attack on settlers spots
A flare in the sky of Silwan
Many armed Israeli forces are spreading around Silwan as continuity of the confrontations that started in Battn al Hawa area after the Molotov cocktails and the fireworks attack on the settlements.
Tthe fire reaction from the Bet Yonatan settlement also increased and the atmosphere was tensed till the confrontations started again in Beer Ayoub where the Israeli forces surrounded the area and focused their forces above the highlands and the plateaus of Silwan.
But the youth managed to reach another settlement in the Ein Silwan street between the Bustan area and Wadi al Hilweh and throw towards it stones and fireworks, a reaction of fire was heard and the testimonies says it came from the settlements guards.
Silwan is still witnessing a tensed period; the Israeli forces are using flares, and confrontations with the settlers doesn’t stop, last Friday, a few hours before the prayer a settler tried to provoke one of the kids and the locals jumped to protect the kid so the settler decided to run away in his car.

A big operation by the Tax authorities in Silwan
The Tax authority and workers from the Jerusalem municipality entered Silwan while escorted by a lot of Israeli forces and agents from the Intelligence department for an operation that targeted the shops in Silwan. One of the merchants says:
” We are living in bad times, the government keeps chasing and fining us, they treating us like we were Bandits, everyone that lives in Jerusalem knows that the real target is the Arab existence in Jerusalem, we are talking about small businesses that legally are exempt from paying any taxes, but they target us so we give up and close our shops so they kill any chance of a basic simple economy in the Palestinians areas.
The Israeli forces broke into Khaled Sarhan’s family in the Abassiya area claiming that they own a store and that they are located in a building that must be evicted.
One of the intelligent agents approached the family since they are relatives of the martyr Samer Serhan and threatened them that they will never be able to make a living in Silwan and he promised to keep chasing them and that they will repeat what they did more than once during this week
