The Brigades' statement detailed that the firing took place in the early morning of September 8th, 2012.
The factions' resistance men launched several missiles and rockets at the military bases, Kissufeem-Karm Abu Salem-Third Eye-Sofa, near Gaza strip borders.
The Statement pointed out that al-Qassam and Al Quds Brigades declared their responsibility for this operation as a response to Israeli aggression on the Palestinian civilians in Rafah city yesterday; the Israeli Forces targeted a group of Palestinian civilians.
The Palestinian medical announced that more 11 Palestinians were injured in the Israeli shelling in Rafah city.
"This operation is part of the repelling operations against the occupation assaults on Gaza Strip and West Bank, and as a response for the ongoing aggression against Palestinian people," the Brigades said.
Abu Obeida: Aggression will bring a stronger response
Gaza - Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades announce, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, that the resistance is ready to respond at any time on any Zionist aggression targeting the Gaza Strip.
Abu Obeida, The Brigades' spokesman, said in a statement to Al-Qassam website on Monday - 8/10/2012 "The resistance shelling today morning is only a message to the Zionist occupation that resistance will not allow the Israeli aggression on civilians to continue under flimsy pretexts."
He added that the joint operation between al-Qassam Brigades and Al-Quds Brigades emphasizes a high-level of coordination between the resistance factions in the management of the confrontation with the Zionist occupation.
The spokesman warned the Zionist enemy that the persistent aggression on the Gaza Strip will bring stronger response by the Palestinian resistance factions.
Al Qassam & Al Quds Brigades had fired several rockets at the Zionist military sites with a number of rockets this morning, in response to the Israeli shelling on Rafah city yesterday evening
Mortar barrage hits Negev; no injuries
Less than 24 hours after an IAF airstrike on southern Gaza, Palestinians fire some 40 mortar shells at Eshkol Regional Council; Hamas, Islamic Jihad: Attack came in response to 'Zionist crimes'
Terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip fired some 40 mortar shells into southern Israel early Monday morning. The shells targeted communities in the Eshkol Regional Council. There were no reports of injuries, although one building was lightly damaged.
Hamas' military wing Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and Ansar al-Quds have claimed responsibility for Monday morning's attack on the south. They claimed the attack was a response to the IAF's airstrike on Gaza on Sunday.
The first shells were launched shortly after 6:00 am. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired at least three mortar shells which then exploded in Israel. One of the shells exploded near a residential building in the Eshkol Region, causing it light damage.
The two other shells exploded in open areas.
Authorities have asked residents of the Eshkol region to remain in protected spaces.
Yehuda Kedem, a resident of one the communities in Eshkol said that "at 5:50 am we heard a large explosion. Apparently the mortar exploded nearby to the kibbutz synagogue. About 6-7 mortar shells hit our area."
Hamas and the Islamic Jihad claimed that the attack on southern Israel came as a response to the "Zionist crimes."
The mortar attack on southern Israel came less than 24 hours after an IAF airstrike in southern Gaza, which left ten injured, two of them severely.
IDF officials said the attack, carried out in cooperation with the Shin Bet security service, targeted two global jihadists who were planning to carry out a major terror attack over the Simchat Torah holiday against Israeli soldiers and civilians.
The army's Spokesperson's Unit identified the men as Tla'ath Halil Muhammad Jerbi (23), a global jihad operative from Rafah; and Abdullah Mohamed Hassan Maqawi (24), a member of the The Mujahideen Shura Council (MSC) in the Environs of Jerusalem, a global jihad group that is based in Gaza.
The army said Jerbi has been involved in extensive terrorist activity against Israel for years, and over the past few days was involved in the preparation of a terror attack in Sinai.

Rocket from the Gaza Strip Hit Ashkol
On Tuesday morning 9th October, Hebrew media sources said that a rocket hit Ashkol settlement compound east of Khan Younes, south of the Gaza Strip.
Israeli media sources said that several rockets fired yesterday from the Gaza Strip but they exploded near the fence, without causing damages.
Al-Qassam and Saraya al-Quds brigades shelled Israeli targets adjacent to Gaza in response to an Israeli missile that killed a Young Palestinian and wounded 10 others Sunday evening.
Popular Front Claims Responsibility for Firing 4 Rockets at Israel

Qassam fighters fire projectiles at invading troops east of Rafah
GAZA, (PIC)-- Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said its resistance fighters were able to fend off the invading Israeli tanks east of Rafah area on Wednesday morning.
In a communiqué, the Brigades affirmed its fighters spotted the invading troops east of Rafah and fired three rocket projectiles at them before returning to their posts safely.
In this context, Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas and Al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad fired five Grad missiles in the last few hours at Israeli settlements in response to Israel's persistence in attacking civilians in Gaza.
The Israeli army, for its part, admitted the fall of five Grad missiles on Sderot and Netivot settlements south of the 1948 occupied lands.
The Grad attacks on Israeli settlements was part of the Palestinian resistance's vow to respond strongly to Israel's latest crimes that rendered one citizen dead and 16 others including many children wounded, and caused damage to two Mosques.
For his part, member of Hamas's political bureau Mahmoud Al-Zahhar warned in a televised statement to BBC Arabic that the Palestinian resistance would expand its counterattacks against Israel if it persisted in its crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.
Zahhar said there is high-level coordination between the Palestinian resistance factions in Gaza to respond to any Israel crime.

For first time, Palestinians in Gaza fire missile at IAF helicopter
IDF confirms that a Soviet-made Strela (SA-7) anti-aircraft missile was fired at a helicopter last week.
A Strela (SA-7) anti-aircraft missile was fired at an Israeli helicopter over the Gaza Strip for the first time last week, the Israel Defense Forces has confirmed. Although the aircraft was not hit, the incident bears out intelligence assessments over the past few years that such missiles had reached the hands of terror groups in Gaza, principally Hamas.
Firing of the rocket was first reported Tuesday morning by the newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth. During last August’s attack at Ein Netafim on the Egyptian border, in which six Israeli civilians and two members of the security forces were killed, an anti-aircraft rocket was fired at an Israel Air Force helicopter participating in the pursuit of the terror squad. As in the current case, the unverified assessment was that the rocket, which did not hit its target, was a Strela.
Groups linked to al-Qaida were responsible for the August attack, with what Israeli intelligence suspected was the participation of Palestinian elements from Gaza.
Though it first made an appearance in the 1960s, the Soviet-manufactured Strela is still considered a relatively advanced weapon. Its presence here comes as no surprise; for years the IAF has imposed certain restrictions on its aircraft on the assumption that anti-aircraft missiles have made their way into Gaza. Though Hamas probably smuggled low-altitude, shoulder-fired missiles into Gaza a few years ago, the supply has increased dramatically since the collapse of the Gadhafi regime in Libya last year.

Qassam Brigades threaten to respond to Israeli Occupation crimes
GAZA, (PIC)-- Ezzeddeen Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas armed wing, confirmed its commitment to respond to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, where two Palestinians were killed and five others were injured on Monday morning.
Ezzedeen Al Qassam Brigades emphasized in a statement issued on Monday that this crime will not go without a response.
The Israeli Occupation Forces continue its crimes against our Palestinian people, keep killing civilians and initiating aggression, to blow up the situation and export its interior crises, the statement added.
Intensifying incursions, shelling and aggression as what has happened in north of Beit Hanoun city this morning, will not put pressure on us, the Brigades stated regarding the Israeli recent aggression.
Two Palestinian resistance fighters Abdulrahman Abu Jalala, Al-Qassam Brigades, and Yasser Al-Tarabin, Nasser Salahuddin Brigades, were killed on Monday in the Israeli aerial raid that targeted their position to the north of the Gaza Strip.

Bomb wounds Israeli officer on Gaza border
JERUSALEM (Reuters) -- An Israeli officer was severely wounded on Tuesday when a bomb went off beside an army patrol along the border with the Gaza Strip, a military spokeswoman said.
The attack came on the same day that the Emir of Qatar was due to arrive in Gaza in the first visit by a head of state to the blockaded enclave since it was taken over in 2007 by the Islamist Hamas movement.
No militant group claimed responsibility for the bomb attack. An Israeli military statement said the soldiers were on a "routine patrol adjacent to the security fence in the central Gaza Strip" when the explosion occurred.
The officer was evacuated by helicopter to hospital, the statement added.
On Monday, Israel killed two Palestinian militants, one of them a Hamas gunman, in airstrikes on the coastal enclave.
Although Hamas is hostile to Israel, it has regularly sought to stay out of recent cross-border confrontations as it shores up its Gaza rule in the face of more radical challengers and reaches out to potential Arab allies abroad.
Israel: Gaza rocket strikes Eshkol, no injuries
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- At least one rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in southern Israel on Tuesday, the Israeli military said.
No injuries were reported, an army representative said.
The attack came hours after Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine fighters claimed responsibility for an attack that wounded an Israeli soldier on the Gaza border.
The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said it was responsible for a bomb that went off beside an army patrol east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel would deliver a strong response to the attack. "We will fight and we will hit them very, very hard," Netanyahu said.
The wounded officer was evacuated by helicopter to hospital, the Israeli military said in a statement.
On Monday, the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said it had fired mortars at soldiers and cross-border rockets east of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip after Israeli forces killed two Palestinian fighters in airstrikes early Monday morning.

PFLP fighters claim attack on Israeli soldiers
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine fighters on Tuesday claimed responsibility for an attack that wounded an Israeli soldier on the Gaza border.
The Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said in a statement that it was responsible for a bomb that went off beside an army patrol east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. It said no PFLP militants were injured in the operation.
"We in the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades reaffirm the right of confrontation and resistance to the occupation, and we will continue our military response and our resistance so long as the occupation continues its aggression, and we will keep our watchful eye toward protecting the people and the homeland. Our response will continue. No voice is louder than the voice of resistance," the PFLP wing said in a statement.

Group breaks informal Israel-Gaza truce
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- An armed group launched attacks on Israeli army and civilian sites along the border with the Gaza Strip hours after an unofficial truce sought to end two days of violence.
The Al-Mujahideen brigades claimed responsibility for firing two rockets at the Kissufim military base and three toward residential areas along the border.
The group said the attack was a response to "the occupation's crimes against the people and continued aggression against the Gaza Strip," and stressed that it would continue its attacks.
Since Wednesday, the group says its forces have launched 12 rockets toward Israeli residential areas and four shells at the Erez crossing, where Israeli forces are stationed.
The Israeli military confirmed only one rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in the Eshkol regional council near the border early Thursday, hours after an unofficial ceasefire was announced.
Israeli forces and all other Palestinian armed groups have refrained from attacks as an informal truce brokered by Egypt appeared to take hold following two days of violence.
Palestinians had launched dozens of rockets into Israel over the preceding two days and Israel conducted a number of air raids on the coastal enclave, raising fears of a prolonged, bloody confrontation between the two sides.
An Israeli official said no formal agreement had been reached with Hamas, although Egyptian officials had been instrumental in restoring calm.
"The Egyptians have a very impressive ability to articulate to (Hamas) that its primary interest is not to attack and use terror against Israel or other targets," Israeli official Amos Gilad told Army Radio.
But he added that there was no direct agreement with the Islamist faction which refuses to recognize Israel and calls for its destruction.
"It can be said categorically that there is no agreement with Hamas, there has never been and there will never be. ... The only thing that has been set and said is that there will be calm. We are not interested in an escalation," Gilad added.
On Wednesday, Israel killed a PRC militant in an airstrike which it said was intended to stop rocket launches. On Tuesday, Israel killed three Hamas men, saying they had either launched attacks or were about to do so.
Hamas' armed wing said the most recent attack targeted Jabaliya late Wednesday, injuring a woman. Israel denied involvement and said its last attack on Gaza was Wednesday morning.

Sources: The resistance will respond to any aggression
GAZA, (PIC)-- Informed sources affirmed that Egyptian efforts had reached an understanding on restoring calm in the Gaza Strip.
The sources told PIC's reporter: "The Egyptian efforts resulted in a preliminary understanding to stop the escalation, which started following the Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip that caused the death of 14 Palestinian citizens since the beginning of this month."
They added that the resistance factions reported that they are not interested in an escalation, and that the conditions depend on the attitude of the occupation, stressing that they will respond to any aggression on the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Mohammed al-Barim, the spokesman for the Resistance Committees, denied that the joint operations room of the resistance factions had reached a formal truce with the Israeli occupation.
He stressed in a statement that the resistance factions will respond to every Israeli attack against the Palestinian people and will always defend the sanctity Palestinian blood.
Qassem condemns Fatah's calls for halting resistance
NABLUS, (PIC)-- Political science professor at the Palestinian al-Najah University, Abdel Sattar Qassem, criticized Fatah's calls on resistance factions in the Gaza Strip to stop armed resistance against the occupation.
Qassem called, in statements to Quds Press, for maintaining the armed resistance as "a way towards the liberation of the land and confronting the occupation".
He also stressed that the resistance must continue in an attempt to put pressure on the occupation and to force it to give up and withdraw.
The Palestinian political analyst added that the occupied West Bank needs to adopt the option of armed military resistance to be able to confront the occupation army and respond to settlers attacks, while Gaza needs to develop its military capabilities in preparation for defending the Gaza Strip against any future Israeli aggression.

Palestinians fire rockets into Israel
Palestinian resistance groups have fired three rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel in reaction to recent Israeli airstrikes that killed one Palestinian and injured another in the besieged enclave.
The rockets landed in southern Israel Sunday morning, hours after a remote-controlled Israeli assassination drone fired missiles at targets in the town of Rafah, killing one person and injuring another.
The Israeli regime has launched ground and air assaults on the Gaza Strip over the past week, killing and injuring several Gazans.
The Israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and ground attacks on Gaza, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.
The apartheid regime of Israel denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
Hebrew Media: Hamas triumphed in the latest round of escalation in Gaza
GAZA, (PIC)-- Haaretz Hebrew newspaper said that Al-Qassam Brigades the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, emerged victorious in the latest round of Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip, although it caused four martyrs among the Palestinians during the three days.
Israel's deterrence achieved in the aggression on the Gaza Strip in late 2008 started fading with the recent Israeli escalation on the Gaza strip, stressing that Hamas emerged from this round "the victorious party", Haaretz stated.
The response of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, which was a joint operation particularly between "Al-Qassam Brigades" and "Salahuddin Brigades ", included defensive strategy that differs from the random response, where they fired dozens of rockets and missiles on Israeli military sites along the border of the Gaza strip. An Israeli military tower was directly targeted by the Palestinian resistance, in addition to wounding a senior Israeli officer.

Palestinian resistance fighters fire rockets into Israel
Palestinian resistance fighters have fired rockets into southern Israel in retaliation for the recent airstrikes by the Israeli regime on the Gaza Strip.
The rockets landed mostly in the Sderot, Eshkol and Hof Ashkelon regions.
The Palestinian rockets were fired shortly after Israeli warplanes carried out air raids on the Gaza Strip.
Israeli warplanes fired missiles at targets in the central and southern parts of Gaza during the early hours of Monday. No casualties were reported.
The Israeli military frequently carries out airstrikes and other attacks on the Gaza Strip, saying the actions are being conducted for defensive purposes. However, disproportionate force is always used, in violation of international law, and civilians are often killed or injured.
Gaza has been blockaded since 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standard of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty for the Gazans.

Israel strikes Gaza overnight, no injuries
GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli warplanes struck several sites in the Gaza Strip overnight Sunday, causing substantial damage but with no reports of injuries.
Gaza brigades also fired 18 rockets into southern Israel overnight, without causing injuries or damage, Israeli news site Ynet reported.
Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for firing at several Israeli military sites "in response to the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip."
An Al-Qassam site was hit in an overnight airstrike east of Khan Younis in south Gaza, causing damage to the site and surrounding area.
Another Al-Qassam building was bombed in the northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun. Witnesses said the site suffered significant damage, and surrounding buildings, including Beit Hanoun municipality building, were also affected.
Residents also reported that a building site was flattened east of Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, and another Israeli strike hit an empty area south of Gaza City.
No injuries have been reported.
The Israeli army said it "targeted a rocket launching site and a terror activity site in the northern Gaza Strip as well as a terror activity site in the southern Gaza Strip."
It said the strike were "in response to the incessant rocket fire at southern Israel," noting that direct hits were confirmed.
Overnight Saturday, an Israeli airstrike killed a Hamas militant and wounded another in Khan Younis.
The incidents followed a three-day lull since an upsurge in violence last week in which Israel killed at least seven Palestinians, and dozens of rockets were fired at Israeli towns, damaging some homes and wounding several agricultural workers.
Egypt brokered an unofficial truce between Israel and Hamas late Wednesday, after three days of airstrikes on the coastal enclave.
Bardawil: Resistance to respond to any Israeli aggression
GAZA, (PIC)-- Dr. Salah Bardawil, a Hamas leader in Gaza, stated that the Israeli aggression on Gaza confirmed the Israeli lack of commitment to the truce, pointing out that the resistance had decided to respond to any aggression on the Palestinian people.
Bardawil told Quds Press on Monday that the Israeli occupation only believes in one-sided truce to impose submission and capitulation on the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic nations.
He pointed out that the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza was carried out to test the Palestinian resistance, pointing out that the Israeli forces targeted a group of fighters of the al-Qassam Brigades after the resistance's response and if resistance did not retaliate the Israeli army would have escalated its aggression.
Today, they also began testing the resistance through bombing some sites in Gaza, and the resistance responded, he said.
Not responding to Israeli aggression would encourage the occupation to commit more crimes against our people, he stressed, noting that the Israeli aggression is a political and media war in preparation for the Israeli elections.
We will not allow exploiting Gaza in the Israeli election campaigns, he added.
Bardawil praised the Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi’s recent rejection to the aggression on the Gaza Strip, saying that it will strengthen the Palestinian position before the Israeli occupation.
He condemned PA president Mahmoud Abbas' position towards the people of Gaza's suffering, saying that he neglects his responsibilities toward the Gaza Strip.
Fatah criticizes the resistance’s rockets
BETHLEHEM, (PIC)-- Fatah Movement criticized the firing of rockets by the resistance factions in the Gaza Strip at Israeli targets in response to the occupation bombing and assassination operations.
Member of Fatah movement's Revolutionary Council, Dimitri Dliani, claimed in a press statement on Monday that "the violent reactions, especially firing missiles, contribute to strengthening the occupation’s extremist right."
Fatah movement had been calling on the Palestinian resistance factions in the Gaza Strip to stop the missile strikes in order to avoid the Israeli military escalation against Gaza.
Meanwhile, Salah al-Din Brigades, the military wing of the Resistance Committees in Palestine, affirmed that "no truce will hold with the occupation in light of the continuation of aggression."
Abu Ataya, spokesman for the Brigades, said in a statement that the calls made by the occupation leaders for targeting resistance fighters will not dissuade them from continuing to resist the occupation and defending the Palestinian people against the repeated attacks.
He emphasized that "all resistance fighters from all trends are an integral part of the Palestinian people from which they cannot be separated no matter how hard the occupation tries."

Hamdan stresses on Hamas’s adherence to the option of resistance
BEIRUT, (PIC)-- The International relations official in Hamas movement, Osama Hamdan, said that Hamas is still the most prominent representative of the Palestinian resistance, stressing on its confidence that "the rebellious peoples will regain the lead."
Hamdan asserted in a press statement on Tuesday that Hamas will always adhere to the resistance as a strategic option, and that it will never quit resisting the occupation.
He said: "Today the Arab peoples are moving towards regaining the initiative and getting rid of all the tools of pressure imposed on them. We must trust these peoples and believe that their paths will always be in favor of the Palestinian cause and will always support the option of resistance, which we consider the only strategic option that can result in regaining the Palestinian rights."
He also added that any attempts to suggest that Arab revolutions can weaken the Palestinian resistance represent wrong analyses.
The International relations official denied that Hamas movement has any tendency to repeat the scenario of the Palestinian Liberation Organization which recognized the state of "Israel"; asserting that "It is impossible that we will repeat this mistake ... We will work to lift the Palestinian reality from this miserable experience (PLO) and return it to the right track."
Concerning whether these efforts will include the possibility of reconciliation with Fatah, Hamdan said: "There is a difference between the Oslo Group and the Fatah movement. We will be interested to unite all our people. We cannot accept to let any party divide the Palestinian ranks because of Israeli dictates."

Islamic Jihad said it had fired 70 short-range rockets and mortar bombs across the border since Saturday, salvos which drove Israeli residents to blast shelters.
At least one Israeli, in the town of Sderot, was wounded, ambulance workers said.

Earlier a jeep ambush injured four soldiers in what Israeli officials called an attack that was part of a Palestinian strategy of trying to curb its countermeasures against possible cross-border infiltration.
The al-Quds Brigades said it fired 13 rockets towards the city of Ashkelon and the PFLP's Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said it fired three rockets into the western Negev, while the Al-Mujahideen brigades claimed responsibility for two rockets.
Earlier, the Popular Resistance Committee said it had fired four rockets at communities close to the border and the towns of Sderot and Netivot in southern Israel, in what it called "the revenge invoice" for Israeli tank attacks on Gaza.
"We reaffirm the option of confrontation and resistance to the occupation, and we will continue our resistance and our military responses as long as the occupation continues," the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades said in a statement.
An Israeli army statement said it too was escalating attacks as aircraft targeted a weapon manufacturing facility, two weapon storage facilities and two rocket launching sites in northern Gaza, as well as a weapon storage facility and a "terror activity site" in southern Gaza.
Direct hits were confirmed, the statement said.
It said 30 rockets had been fired from the Gaza Strip in the previous seven hours.
