Israeli planes violate Lebanese airspace
Israeli reconnaissance planes have entered Lebanese airspace for two consecutive days, in violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
According to a statement issued by the Lebanese army on Tuesday, an Israeli reconnaissance plane violated Lebanese airspace above Naqoura at 9:40 a.m. local time on Monday and conducted circular flights over Beirut, Shouf, and southern areas. The statement added that the Israeli aircraft left Lebanon's airspace above Rmeish village at 6:15 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
Two Israeli warplanes violated Lebanese airspace at 8:10 a.m. local time on Tuesday, conducted circular flights above various Lebanese regions, and then left the country's airspace above Alma al-Shaab at 9:40 a.m. local time, the Lebanese army said in another statement issued on Tuesday.
Israel violates Lebanon's airspace on an almost daily basis, claiming the flights serve surveillance purposes.
Lebanon's government, the Hezbollah resistance movement, and the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, have repeatedly condemned the overflights, saying they are in clear violation of UN Resolution 1701 and the country's sovereignty.
UN Security Council Resolution 1701, which brokered a ceasefire in the war of aggression Israel launched against Lebanon in 2006, calls on Tel Aviv to respect Beirut's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In 2009, Lebanon filed a complaint with the United Nations, presenting over 7,000 documents pertaining to Israeli violations of Lebanese territory.

Netanyahu: No Lebanon will be on the map
Lebanese President Michel Sleiman
Israel what was that about MAPS?
For years, the paranoid Israelis have been screaming bloody murder that the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, said that "Israel should be wiped from the map." Of course, the man said no such thing, it was a deliberate mis-translation meant to serve their purposes: to demonize Ahmadinejad and Iran and to justify an unprovoked attack against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
So what did Ahmadinejad actually say? To quote his exact words in Farsi:
"Imam ghoft een rezhim-e ishghalgar-e qods bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad."
The full quote translated directly to English:
"The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time."
Word by word translation:
Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from).
So that should settle the disinformation campaign being waged in order to set the stage for an aggressive attack against Iran and their paranoid delusions that Iran is building a nuclear weapon in order to "wipe them off the map."
If they are nothing, they are constantly hysterical, while collecting billions annually in American taxpayer money to feed the hysteria and the lust for war and to take out those governments they don't like, preferably by proxy in the form of NATO or the US Armed Forces.
But it's ironic. There was no fuss or screaming when Netanyahu actually told an interviewer that when Israel is done with them, there will be NO Lebanon on the new world map.
At a news conference in Switzerland, on the occasion of the building an Israeli railway there, the German newspaper Die Zeit interviewed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
"Congratulations Mr. Netanyahu, my first question is that does the beginning of the large train line's construction confirm the announcement of the dissident Syrian Intelligence Office that you will strike Lebanon?"
In reply, Netanyahu stated:
"Yes, and it is not a secret that it will happen with U.S.-Gulf support and that is why they have been warned, but before you ask, you have a look at the new map of the world and see that there is no nation with this name."
Given that the UN Security Council has listed 388 Israeli airspace violations by Israel against Lebanon, there is no doubt what Israel is planning regarding Lebanon.
President Michel Suleiman condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent statements on Lebanon, saying that its existence will not be affected by his remarks. Odd that no one else, no big mouth, big talking, big stick western nations voiced the slightest concern that this nuclear armed, racist apartheid state, that has used weapons of mass destruction against Lebanon in the past, committing a genocide against the Lebanese people, was threatening them yet again.
He added in a statement: "Lebanon is the only country to have defeated Israel militarily and the Jewish state is still recovering from it."
Indeed, the only thing that stopped Israel in 2006 from wiping Lebanon off the map was the defense against them provided by Hezbollah, who sent them crying with their tails between their legs.
"Lebanon's diversity is the complete opposite of Israel's racist system, which has no place in the world," stressed the president.
Odd, isn't it, that all of the countries attacked by the west, enemies of Israel, can all say the same thing. That they were the models of tolerance, brotherhood, prosperity and human rights, unlike the western allies of Saudi Arabia, Qatar. etc. that are horrid feudal examples of barbaric practices and backwardness.
"Lebanon is one of the founders of the United Nations and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Netanyahu's statements reflect his contempt for humans," Suleiman added.
Syria and Hezbollah in Lebanon are on high alert in anticipation of an Israeli attack on Lebanon, the London-based A-Sharq al-Awsat daily reported recently. According to the report, Hezbollah has been monitoring with caution the reinforcement of IDF troops along the Lebanon border.
It is also interesting to note that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, admitted that the Israeli train line is funded by Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Asked if he was not afraid of his people, he affirmed the close friendly relations between the two countries. Qatar, the one that has had a vested interest in formenting terrorism and and 'regime change" in Libya, Syria and elsewhere.
Isn't it odd that Israel is allowed to wave the stick at anybody it feels like with impunity, while they maintain a monopoly on nuclear weapons in the Middle East? The same country that has threatened all the capitals of Europe?

Any attack on Lebanon's oil rights will lead to war: Suleiman
Lebanese President Michel Suleiman
Lebanese President Michel Suleiman has cautioned Israel against violating Lebanon’s “petroleum rights” because it would “lead to war.”
On Friday, Suleiman said that he hopes that the Zionist entity would not take any action regarding oil exploration in the eastern Mediterranean against Lebanon’s interests, as Lebanon is now witnessing a period of stability despite the unrest in the wider region.
“Any violation of our petroleum rights will lead to war,” Suleiman stated. “We never assaulted Israel, but it always attacks us, the last of which was its violations against our exclusive economic zone,” he added.
The Lebanese president made the remarks at the end of his trip to the Czech Republic, where he met with Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg.
Commenting on regional developments, Suleiman said, “Democracy is not being applied fairly when it comes to the Palestinian cause.”
He also warned of the possibility of the rise of Arab extremism as a counterweight to Israeli extremism and expressed hope that the Arab League would “resume its normal role” to address the issue after having “steered away from its main goals.”
“The Palestinian cause is a constant source of regional and global tension,” Suleiman noted.
The comments come against the backdrop of a dispute which emerged between Lebanon and the Zionist entity on the demarcation of their maritime borders after offshore oil and gas were discovered along the Lebanese coast.

Israel preparing for ‘tunnel warfare’ with Hezbollah and Hamas
A report has revealed that the Israeli regime has introduced a "new method of conducting underground warfare" to prepare for wars with Hezbollah and Hamas.
"The method, which has been developed since the Second Lebanon War (33-day Lebanon war) and Operation Cast Lead (22-day Gaza war), is meant to combat the underground tunnel systems used by Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip," said Israeli newspaper Haaretz on Wednesday.
The daily added that the Israeli military believes that the Hezbollah resistance movement has "dozens of underground bases" from which it controls its operations.
The report added that the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas also is running dozens of "combat tunnels" connecting homes in Gaza Strip.
Underground tunnel systems are used in the Gaza strip for transferring goods to the besieged Palestinians in the coastal strip.
Israeli troops also regularly take part in military exercises in a tunnel system designed to simulate those used by what Tel Aviv claims terror organizations.
The exercises come as Israel is ratcheting up the war rhetoric against other countries. The Israeli army was defeated when it waged a 22-day-war on the Gaza Strip back in 2009. This came after a humiliating defeat in a 33-day war with Hezbollah shattered its façade of invincibility in 2006.

‘Israeli military violates Lebanon’s land, airspace’
Israeli forces at the southern Lebanese border
An Israeli infantry force has illegally entered Lebanon, while Israeli reconnaissance planes again violated the country’s airspace.
According to Lebanese television, Al-Manar, the Israeli ground force reached the banks of Wazzani River on Wednesday after crossing the electric fence on the southern Lebanese border, with some troops taking up combat positions and pointing their machineguns at the Lebanese territory.
The troops withdrew shortly after Lebanese Army sent patrols in the area to monitor the movements of the Israeli forces.
Earlier in the day, Israeli reconnaissance planes violated Lebanon's airspace and flew over the country in violation of a UN Security Council resolution.
The Lebanese Army issued a statement, saying that the incursion had occurred over the country's southern border at 9:30 a.m. (local time) on Wednesday.
The Israeli planes maneuvered over the area until about 10:40 a.m. (local time) before leaving Lebanon's airspace, the statement added.
Israel violates Lebanon's airspace on an almost daily basis, claiming that the flights serve surveillance purposes.
Lebanon's government, the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah, and the UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) have repeatedly condemned the overflights, saying they are in clear violation of the UN Resolution 1701 and the country's sovereignty.
The resolution, which brokered a ceasefire in the war of aggression, Israel launched against Lebanon in 2006, calls on Tel Aviv to respect the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The war killed around 1,200 Lebanese. Most of the victims were civilians.
In 2009, Lebanon filed a complaint with the UN, presenting over 7,000 documents pertaining to Israeli violations of the Lebanese territory.

Israeli violation of Lebanon sovereignty unacceptable: Russia
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov (R) meets with his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour in Moscow, Russia, on March 20, 2012.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said that Israel’s regular violations of Lebanese airspace are unacceptable and infringe the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.
"We consider violating this resolution unacceptable, especially as far as respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and airspace is concerned. Regrettably, this is a regular violation by the Israeli air force," Lavrov said during a joint news conference with his Lebanese counterpart Adnan Mansour in Moscow on Tuesday.
Mansour told Russian Foreign Minister that Israeli military has violated Lebanese airspace more over 9,000 times since 2006.
Israel violates Lebanon's airspace on an almost daily basis, claiming the flights serve surveillance purposes.

Hezbollah rejects involvement in illegal activities
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBCIuarITzY
Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah has rejected allegations made by right-wing Israeli and American activists accusing the movement of involvement in illegal activities, Press TV reports.
The US and Israeli activists have recently stepped up their propaganda campaign against the resistance movement and its finances, accusing Hezbollah of being involved in illegal activities, including drug trafficking and money laundering.
Israeli daily Yediot Ahranot has recently claimed that Hezbollah is attempting to take control of Lebanon’s finance sector and banking system. This report was simultaneous with a high profile visit to Beirut by the US treasury undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence David Cohen.
''The US Zionist lobby has a big role to play in whipping up the congress and the US government with the power that they have in the government to send these officials to rattle the cage of the central bank, to send a message to the Lebanese that you’re vulnerable,'' said Franklin Lamb with the Americans concerned for ME Peace.
High ranking Republican congressmen have also accused Hezbollah of involvement in a full range of criminal activities in the US to raise money. US Congressman Peter King, who last year accused the American Muslim community of a growing radicalization, described the Hezbollah movement as a violent murder gang, saying that it represents a growing threat to US national security.
''All of a sudden there is focus on the criminal aspect of drug dealing, money laundering, without specific facts to terrorism. Remember it was terrorism, terrorism, terrorism. It still is but that’s shopworn, that doesn’t have the credibility,'' Lamb pointed out.
Hezbollah has, however, strongly denied any involvement in criminal activities, saying it is being targeted because of its stiff resistance against Israel and also because Tel Aviv failed to defeat the movement militarily in 2006.
Since that time Hezbollah appears to have grown both militarily and politically and is still seen by many as a legitimate resistance and liberating force.

Head of Salafist cell still on run in Lebanon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKIsfOlzn2c
The commander of a Salafist cell accused of plotting terrorist attacks against the Lebanese Armed Forces and UN Interim Forces in Lebanon is on the run, Press TV reports.
Tawfiq Taha, the commander of the fundamentalist Abdullah Azzam brigades, is said to be hiding in the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain al-Helwi in southern Lebanon.
Lebanese Army sources said Taha has been involved in several terrorist activities.
He was charged of "setting up an armed gang and conducting training exercises with the aim of carrying out terrorist acts and operations against military establishment.”
Around 80,000 people living in the camp fear that he might use the site as a safe haven and them as human shields.
The Lebanese Army beefed up its presence around the refugee camp to arrest the fugitive.

Iran key to strengthening anti-Zionist resistance: Lebanese Parl. speaker
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri says the Islamic Republic is key to bolstering the resistance front against Zionism.
Iran is important in maintaining and strengthening the anti-Zionist resistance front, Berri said during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, on Thursday.
The extensive presence of people to back the Islamic establishment in Iran is a strategic element in denting a blow to the plots of the enemies, he added.
For his part, Amir-Abdollahian stressed the importance of exploiting all the existing parliamentary and popular capacities of Iran and Lebanon to boost the trend of Islamic Awakening in the region, describing the move as a significant factor to consolidate the achievements of the resistance front.
He also stressed the necessity of maintaining vigilance in the face of Zionist plots in the region, and emphasized Iran’s stance of supporting popular demands in Syria, Yemen, and Bahrain.
The meeting in Beirut was also attended by Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi.

Julian Assange's The World Tomorrow: Hassan Nasrallah
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDLXPpooA18
Hezbollah urged the Syrian opposition to engage in dialogue with Assad's regime, but they refused. Hezbollah leader Sayyid Nasrallah confirmed this in his first interview in 6 years, the world premiere of Julian Assange's 'The World Tomorrow' on RT.
Nasrallah to Assange: Hezbollah talked to Syria opposition; we want dialogue, US & Israel want civil war
Nasrallah to Assange: Hezbollah talked to Syria opposition; we want dialogue, US & Israel want civil war
Hezbollah urged the Syrian opposition to engage in dialogue with Assad's regime, but they refused.
Hezbollah leader Sayyid Nasrallah confirmed this in his first interview in six years, the world premiere of Julian Assange’s The World Tomorrow on RT.
Sayyid Hassan Nasrallah told Assange that Hezbollah supports Syrian president Bashar al-Assad as Syria supported resistance in Lebanon and “hasn't backed down in the face of Israeli and American pressure.”
Nasrallah, a freedom fighter to millions though a terrorist to the US, Israel, Canada and the Netherlands, says Assad’s regime “served the Palestinian cause very well.”
This is why Hezbollah supported the so-called Arab Spring in Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt and elsewhere, but when it came to Syria, Hezbollah urged the opposition to engage in dialog with President Bashar al-Assad.
“This is the first time I say this – We contacted […] the opposition to encourage them and to facilitate the process of dialogue with the regime. But they rejected dialogue,” he revealed. “Right from the beginning we have had a regime that is willing to undergo reforms and prepared for dialogue. On the other side you have an opposition which is not prepared for dialogue and it is not prepared to accept reforms. All it wants is to bring down the regime. This is a problem.”
Nasrallah called for balance on the Syrian issue as “armed groups in Syria have killed very many civilians” though international blame is leveled squarely at President Assad.
Several Arab & non-Arab states are arming and funding the rebels while in the Hezbollah leader’s opinion Al-Qaeda simply wants to turn Syria into a battle ground.
“There is fighting in Syria – when one party retreats, the other will advance, it will go on as long as doors to dialogue are shut,” he told Assange.
Stressing that Hezbollah supports dialogue, Nasrallah points out that without it, "civil war is the only alternative." In his words "this is exactly what America and Israel want… Arab states are ready for tens of years of dialogue with Israel but won't have two months to try a political solution in Syria."
Israel is illegal state
To this day Nasrallah believes Israel “is and will be an illegal state… It was established on the basis of occupying the lands of others,” he says. “If I occupy your house by force it doesn't become mine in 50 or 100 years.”
While “Hezbollah does not want to kill anyone”, the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is establishing a democratic state on Palestinian land where Muslims, Jews and Christians live in peace but the US “won't let people listen to Hezbollah.”
“Our priority is still the liberation of our land and the protection of Lebanon from the Israeli threat", he told Assange, "Israel's hi-tech surveillance will never crack the code of the Lebanese resistance – they use local village dialects.”
Assange show premieres
Sayyid Nasrallah is the first guest on Julian Assange's The World Tomorrow – one of the most anticipated news programs of 2012.The first-episode, with Nasrallah's identity kept secret until broadcast, coincides with the 500th day of financial blockade on WikiLeaks.
The 10-episode series features Assange in conversation with “iconoclasts, visionaries and power insiders.” Speaking before the premiere, Assange revealed he expects a storm around the show, with media labeling him an "enemy combatant, traitor who interviews “terrible radicals from around the world.”
The announcement that RT would host Assange's show created a global media stir, with many questioning the RT/Assange link-up. In a pre-show interview Assange explained his rationale.
“A lot of the things that we have been trying to report have not been carried accurately in the mainstream press. There are many, many fine exceptions, but when we look at international networks there’s really only two that are worth speaking about, and that’s RT and Al Jazeera.”

Resistance foiled Israeli-US plot to kill Palestinian cause: Nasrallah
Hezbollah Secretary General Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has said that resistance against Tel Aviv has thwarted an Israeli-US project to kill the Palestinian cause.
Speaking on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon in Bint Jbeil town, Nasrallah said on Friday that the resistance, which started in 1982 to confront the Israeli occupation, thwarted the Israeli-US plot in the region and marked a new era in the Middle East.
He also said that resistance foiled the Israeli plan for the long-term occupation of southern Lebanon and forced Israel to forget its project to form a 'greater Israel' and instead build walls along its borders.
He also said that resistance groups today are more powerful than Israel and it is Tel Aviv which is scared of being attacked.
The Hezbollah chief also confirmed that the Lebanese pilgrims who had been abducted in Syria were released and thanked all those who played a role in their freedom, including Turkish and Syrian authorities.

Israel builds new outpost, conducts war game near Lebanese border
Israeli troops have started construction of a military outpost near Lebanon as Tel Aviv is trying to build up its military presence along the Lebanese border.
Around three bulldozers, a dredger and 30 soldiers backed by four Merkava tanks and three Humvees began the operations in the early morning hours in an area that oversees the Muntazahat area near the Wazzani River, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported on Thursday.
The move comes in a strategic region along the border that stretches from the western side of the southern Lebanese village of Ghajar to al-Hamari.
In another related development, Israeli troops carried out military drills on the other side of the border in an area between the southern villages of Mais al-Jabal and Blida.
The war game prompted the Lebanese army to go on alert and the Nepalese contingent of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) carried out patrols in the area.
Officials in Beirut have expressed concern over Israel’s intensified military movements along the Lebanese border.

Palestinian-Lebanese efforts to contain Nahr Al-Bared tension
The Palestinian factions and the Lebanese security forces are trying to contain the tension in Nahr Al-Bared after the killing of Palestinian young man and the injury of five others on Friday.
The incident happened when a Lebanese army patrol stopped a Palestinian young man named Mohamed Al-Wahsh on his motorcycle, verbally abused him and later they beat him with a rifle after he tried to defend himself.
A reporter for the Palestinian information center (PIC) in Lebanon said the Lebanese army stepped up its provocative acts lately against the Palestinian refugees in the camp prompting them to stage protests against it.
A state of extreme anger is prevailing now in the camp after the killing of Mohamed Qassem, 18, and the injury of five others, one of them is critically wounded.
The angry Palestinians in the camp said they would not stop their protests until the Lebanese authorities punish the killers, end the security status in the camp, and release the Palestinian detainees.
The leaders of Palestinian factions in the refugee camp are still holding meetings with the Lebanese army command to contain the situation, according to the PIC reporter.

Child Killed, 10 Injured, In Nahr Al-Bared Refugee Camp
The Palestine Press News Agency reported that one Palestinian child was killed, on Friday evening, and ten others were wounded, during clashes that took place with the Lebanese army.
The child was identified as Ahmad Anees, 10, while at least ten other refugees were injured by rounds of live ammunition fired by the Lebanese army.
Palestinian political factions in the camp called for prosecuting the Lebanese army officers responsible for the attack, the Pal Press reported.
Arkam Bader, a political leader of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) in the camp, stated that the Palestinians and the Lebanese army are on the same side when it comes to resisting the Israeli occupation, “but the army should not attack the refugees and their dignity”, and added that what happened in the camp “is the outcome of a five-year long tension”.
Meanwhile, Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, ordered the Palestinian Ambassador in Lebanon, to conduct the needed talks with Lebanese officials in order to contain the clashes.
Abbas said that the Palestinian-Lebanese relations are based on trust, cooperation, and respect of the law in the country, and added that all parties should act on preventing further escalation.

Palestinian killed in clash with Lebanese army
TRIPOLI, Lebanon (Reuters) -- A Palestinian was killed Friday in clashes between the Lebanese army and Palestinian residents of a refugee camp in north Lebanon, security sources and camp leaders said.
A security source said at least four Palestinians were hurt but a refugee camp leader said the count was much higher with around 23 Palestinians wounded.
Residents were still seething after the fighting stopped, and many were throwing stones and blocking roads near the camp, which is close to the northern port city of Tripoli.
Soldiers responded by surrounding parts of the Nahr al-Bared refugee camp, that was devastated in 2007 when the Lebanese army fought militants there.
The clashes on Friday erupted after the military tried to stop a fight between two Palestinians at the camp, residents said. Some people responded by throwing rocks but the fighting escalated into a gunfight.
Residents blamed the violence on the soldiers, camp leaders said, but security sources insisted the man killed was not hit by their bullets.
Tensions have not subsided around the coastal shantytown since 2007, when the army moved in to fight the al Qaeda-inspired Fatah al-Islam group. More than 400 people were killed, 170 of them soldiers, and 6,000 homes were flattened.

Haniyeh calls for lifting the military situation imposed on Nahr al-Bared camp
The Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh discussed with the representative of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas in Lebanon, Ali Baraka, the conditions of the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, particularly in Nahr al-Bared camp in the wake of the unfortunate incident that led to the death of the Palestinian youth, Ahmed Kassem, and the wounding of others by bullets of elements of the Lebanese army.
Haniyeh condemned the unjustifiable shooting on the Palestinians in the camp, and demanded the Lebanese government to investigate the incident, to lift the military situation imposed on the camp and to reconstruct it as soon as possible to enable its inhabitants to return to it, given that this camp is considered as a symbol of the Palestinian refugees' issue, and a station on the way of return to Palestine.
Haniyeh stressed on his strong interest in maintaining the security within the camps, in preserving the refugee camps' stability as well as the national security in Lebanon, in preserving the dignity of Palestinians who live in the camps and in providing them with a decent livelihood until they become able to return to their home land.
Haniyeh offered his condolences for the martyrdom of Ahmed Kassem and wished a speedy recovery to the wounded, stressing on the need to strengthen the brotherly relations between the Lebanese and the Palestinian peoples.
